Do you have friends outside of GFY?
 

I was looking at some Myspace profiles and noticed lots of people from here with pictures of tfriends who are in the adult biz and their friends from GFY.

I am curious how many hang out with people that are outside of the biz.

I don't "hang out" with anyone in the biz, work and life are completely seperate

Thats a great question, I thought the same thing too at first.

I found out about myspace from a freind in the industry and everyone just started adding everyone in the biz and now my personal profile became very biz related. Not that I mind ,I tried to tell my non industry freinds about it and 1. they never heard about it or 2. were not interested.

Mind you that's what I found.

I got a load of them especially during payday...

Same here, although I would not mind meeting the people who live in Winnipeg and work in the biz.

I noticed that about other GFYers on myspace, yea. Most of my friends are not a part of this community. I only have a few as friends on myspace. I'm not on GFY that much anyways.

Been in the biz full-time for 9+ years. Last non-biz friend I talked to was maybe 2-3 years ago.
I've known some of the people here longer than I was in Jr. High and High School so it makes sense that my friends are from here.

Most of my friends outside of the biz don't use the internet nearly as much as i do and they're not on myspace as far as i know.

My friends in the biz obviously use the net to interact FOR biz AND socially so it makes sense that they're more tech savvy communication-wise and ON myspace.

I can't stand meeting actual people.
Never been to a show, and never met anyone from this biz.
I don't even like talking on the phone to people I know from this biz.

Same with my regular "friends".. I can't stand most of them.
Plus, I can only handle one of them at a time.
Don't need any more than one, and sometimes that's too many.

I have got many friends outside the biz, my best friend (who is in the biz) I know for 10 years now.... thats before we both started ... I kinda draged him into it :-) I am talking about godsmack, we think about sharing an office since we both work alone

Apart from Nylz and Wielco, I only see business friends at conventions. I go to Holland or Wilco and Nylz come to Scotland so we can party and so on.

But apart from that I got plenty friends here to party with who aint in the business and never will be, no matter how much they bug me to teach them shit.

well, I live in the bible belt so I try to keep everything biz related out of my everyday life if at all possible. It's bad enough I live here and I'm a democrat...

Couple times I've slipped and gone out in my GFY tshirt or porno junkies T or something and if someone asks I just say that I designed their logo and they sent me a T'Shirt along with my payment :1orglaugh

I only spend time with 3 people from this biz the rest is from school and clubs

ofcourse schoolfriends gym lotsa friends...

I've got 10 good friends I've kept for many many years that I rely on more than family, no they aren't in the biz, they ask me to get them in and I'd rather not have them in it.

I like having a place to go to when I'm sick of business and vice versa. Sometimes I just need to be around people that understand the pressure of doing what we do and not hav eto worry about the stigma.

Hence I like having awell rounded circle of friends.
