So you think the AIR MARSHAL was justified in shooting the guy????????
I say yes.......
These guys have to react fast. I believe he was justified in his decision based on what I have heard so far. Thoughts? |
anyone dumb enough to tell an air marshall he's packing a bomb deserves to get his ass shot all up
|
If the accounts are accurate, then yes.

If it went down the way they said it did, then hell yes.
Only a fuckwit would even think of uttering "bomb", then running when told to stop, then reaching in his bag once he did stop. If the twit had've just knelt down and begged them to shoot him instead of doing all that he'd still be alive right now. |
A 44-year-old U.S. citizen who claimed to have a bomb was killed by air marshals Wednesday at Miami International Airport, several sources told CNN. The man, identified as Rigoberto Alpizar, said the device was in his carry-on backpack, a Department of Homeland Security official said. When Alpizar -- standing on the boarding bridge between the plane and terminal -- appeared to reach into his backpack he was shot, the official said. No bomb was found.

the guy was a mental patient that hadnt taking his medication
his wife yelled at the marshalss not to do anything |

They have to react fast and I think he was very justified in reacting the way he did. They're paid to react the way he did. Period.

Alpizar was confronted by a team of federal air marshals, who followed him down the boarding bridge and ordered him to get on the ground, the official said.
When Alpizar appeared to reach into his backpack, he was shot and wounded, the official said, adding that the marshals' actions were consistent with their training. Officials said later that the man died of his injuries. |
Agreed, from what I've "heard" thus far, I'd say it was justified. I kinda wonder though about the source of information right now. Also, the conspiracy theorist in me thinks maybe this is publicity to counter all the recent information about how airport security isn't much more secure then it was in 2001.

If me or someone I love was on that plane, I don't want the marshalls standing around going, "Ok, we'll just wait and talk to him and his wife about his possible mental history"..... then BOOM! Screw that! They had to make a fast choice, and to protect the safety of the other 100+ people on that plane, they made the right choice. :2 cents: |
If the guy really did have mental problems and stuff, it's a sad situation... But if what they're saying is true, I don't see where the marshals had much of a choice..

Good Point |
If she knew he had a mental problem and wasn't taking medication , he shouldnt have been travelling.. It sucks , but i think it was justified.. its hard to say without seeing a video , but they say he was running up the aisle of the plane waving his arms yelling incoherently..( after claiming he had a bomb ) ran down off the plane and they shot him on the tarmac as he reached in a bag he had .. i can't see what else they could have done..
|
Shit happens, sometimes mistakes happen in order for the greater good. It's horrible it happened though.. poor guy.
|
and yah if she shouted " he has mental problems" that wouldn't make it any safer.. i would be twice as worried.
|
Bottom line, when an official in uniform pointing their gun at you tells you to stop,
you stop. If you don't you risk being shot. If they tell you to put your hands on your head and kneel, you do it if you don't you risk being shot. If they tell you to lie face down on the pavement, you do it. if you don't you risk being shot. It ain't rocket science, but some guys think it's some sort of cool fucking joke or something to go mocking authority, look at this fuckwit for example.... http://www.thewinnipegpages.com/foru...1094132347.jpg |

If i was a Air Marshal in that position I would have blown his brains out , then lit up a cigarette.

I'm just curious about the training these air marshals have..
Are they like glorified security gaurds? Or do they have army/police training? regardless, saying you have a bomb, and reaching into a backpack should be a gauranteed way to get shot... could have had a trigger in there.. |
Yup, guy going for his bag after making bomb threat, deadly force is justified
|
The guy was mentally ill, I think it's obvious those people yell all kinds of strange shit. The marshal probably had a flashback and shot him down.

YOU GOT IT ALL WRONG.. this is a tactic so you cannot be charged with a DUI. he can claim he got drunk right then when he was stopped and wasnt under the influence while he was driving.. i have seen it work many times. |

It's easy to sit and second-guess the air marshals in a situation like this, but unless you're in that situation you just don't know how it is, or how it was. When you are responsible for 180 lives on a plane loaded with tons of fuel, and more lives of people in the nearby air terminal as well, the likely choice one is likely to make isn't often going to favor the person suspected of carrying a bomb. I know I would certainly rather end one life than risk the lives of hundreds including my own by letting things slide this one time.
How some of you can sit there and think you're qualified to criticize and judge is beyond me. I'm sure there will be a formal investigation into every aspect of this incident and it will be judge properly by informed people who aren't in the cheap seats watching CNN. There, I said it. |
They should have shot him faster imho.
fucker got what he asked for |

When they calm down in Miami the detail will surface over time. I can't believe anything out of that airport - it's a totally under-equipped disaster area and a place to be avoided.
Who knows.. if the story is as being claimed, it looks like the shooter had little option. |
Buy that air marshal a beer, he did his job well.
|
I have 3 words for you
"Suicide By Cop" The guy wanted to die, simple as that. The air marshals were 100% justified in what they did. DH DH |
