how does craigslist make money?

I found it a little while ago, its fun to go to but I was thinking how do they make money?

I really have no idea, I wonder the same thing, there must be a charge to list on there or some sort of cut if sales are made.

they charge for ads in certain cities for certain posts..such as Jobs and Cars.

none - Craigs List gets revenue from pre-paid gallery placements on the top 15 spaces and banners. the rest of the galleries are free placements.
