Do you own Sirius Radio?

I have had Sirius for a long time now. I thought it was a novel idea even before Howard Stern announced his contract with them.

I looked at XM at the time and Sirius' program is much better.

I'm a huge Howard Stern fan too so this all coming together is great.

Let's hope that the FCC keeps their noses out of pay services.

Do you have Sirius?

I got the Starmate off ebay last week + home and car kit for $69. Should be here any day now. I'll probably get the S50 after the holidays too.

Not yet. I do own a decent position as far as stocks in them though.

I want to get the S50 or sportster this xmas. What unit do you have?

Furious_Male 12-07-2005 12:06 PM

For those that don't know a lot about the S50 here is a bit of info.

It looks like an excellent unit. Early indicators from sales are good.

If that baby takes off they could put some heat on the Ipods.

I doubt they could stick their noses in private compagnies publishing... it's like if they would censor the web.

I played with a bit at Best Buy last week. The only negative I could see is that it's in that matte black finish so it shows fingerprints really bad... and it's not like XM's portable radios. It doesn't have a built in antenna so you can only listen to recorded music if you are away from the home or car docking kits, but I'm still getting one when the price drops a bit after the holidays.

ive had it since it came out

Yea the smudging like the PSPs.

The buzz is they are working on a truly portable version (so you don't have to listen to just recordings etc.). I have not seen anything official on that yet though.

The S50 is a hot item.

I have an older JVC reciever that works just fine. I have it in the car right now but when Howard comes on in January I'll just grab the boombox for it. Or a home docking kit for the office.

The S50 does look hot.

Ive had sirius for years and i love it. i was deciding between xm and sirius and heard numerous bad things about xm, so im glad I made the choice I did.

however, XM seems to be doing a lot of tv spots now since the hype about howard stern is coming to sirius.

Well, I got mine a couple days ago and love it, but I found something interesting while searching for a way to record thru my pc.

For those interested in the S50, check this out..

If you buy it to record a Sirius music program, chances are it is not allowed and skips the recording. Sirius admits it and says there is no solution in sight. I have plenty of recordings of talk between music, little blips, and more talk. Most classical and jazz programs are blocked. Within certain programs that appear to be recordable, music is blocked. You never know until you try it. Frustrating.
