Nothing to it. I've had lots of them. Once I had one after the novicaine wore off I didn't feel a thing. To this day I still wonder if that dentist didn't just say he was giving me one and just fiddled around in my mouth to fake me out and pocket my cash.
Are they going to put you under for the surgery? I had one 6 years ago and I had pain for 6 weeks after. It kept decreasing, but I would wake up from the pain in the morning. Also, I developed a lipoma in my jaw after my mouth healed. Its small about the size of a peanut.
All I can say is,"Good luck". Maybe Darvocet would be better than Hydrocodone for you. Take it easy for a few days after surgery. Stay off the computer for long periods.

i dont want to be put under i have this innate fear of it for some reason
Had a root canal on an eye tooth years ago after the crown had broken off. Trick was...the root was still infected. The dentist froze around it 4-5 times but the freezing never took. So he decided (without warning me beforehand) to put the freezing needle directly in to the nerve in the middle of the root.
The jolt of pain was like a white lightning bolt and damn near tore my head off. It did the trick and froze everything within seconds - but that's one pain experience I'll never forget - and I generally have an extremely high pain tolerance.
Never let a dentist pull a stunt like that
Having 29 extractions in one afternoon years later didn't come close to equaling that pain, lol.
is it a molar, I rather have that tooth yanked and have a implant installed by a digital computer using dentist.. price aint that much more.... 99.99% no problems and no future jaw problems.. and believe it or not, NO BLEEDING, work the next day
what type of filling are they going to use? get that white shit dont let them put metal in your mouth
all the bacteria for the next 30 years might take away 10 years of your life, even more if the dentist is a shnewd (shnewd?!?!) and does a real bad job and uses the wrong crap in your mouth..
I got one root canal, and going to get it yanked, its just not the same once its drilled, and somtimes it bothers you
what most people have said is exactly right.
years ago...they were a horror.
if your dentist doesn't know what he's doing, it's a horror.
if you have a good dentist, it's no big deal these days.
i've had all three experiences.
Had one done last week. Didn't even notice. Also had 8 cavities filled and inlays put in. Total cost $4400 for the lower right side. Figure at about $15k I'll be done. Smokes and weed and not flossing are a bitch long term. Well, that and I was once a coffee addict that liked it 3 packets sweet.
Ativan, btw, is the absolute bomb for dental. Its like low grade valium. I have only slight impressions of memories of last wednesday. Plus my dentist is high grade, and is very free with the novacaine.
The actual root canal was not so bad at the oral surgeon, but I had this glitzy Beverly Hills dentist who came recommended and nonetheless cracked my jaw putting the post in and then insisted that I was numbed up and couldn't possibly be in pain from what she was doing. That sucked.
Oh yeah, if anyone has a really great dentist they can recommend, that would be excellent. I've been a little gun-shy since the jaw-cracking incident and my X-rays always entertain new people who look at them now.

ouch, make sure they are using digital equipment... there's no way they can make a mistake its all computer controlled.

That is exacly what a dentist once did to me. The pain is undescribable... unlike anything I've ever experienced.
When do you need a root canal? From my 3 wisdom tooth not being yanked out when I had the one yanked out (the dentist asked I stupidly said no..) my teeth have all been "pushed in" and my wisdom teeth are entirely sideways - I know those have to go..
Unfortunately I have had literally 'pressure cracking' on some of my teeth - one in the back now has a nice visible hole in it.. I definitely don't have the money to go to the dentist right now, afraid they would say I need a root canal.. Not even sure what the hell is the cause for needing one - anyone know.. or half ass know lol
you looking at some serious jaw problems, which will lead to serious sinus problemms if you dont get those wisdom teeth yanked, dont get put to sleep, (serious cowards only) its dumb, a dentist with good tools can extract that out with minimal effort, no pain and you'll barely feel it for 75 bucks a tooth, well worth the 15,000 youll save down the line, aside from all the serious problems thta are soon to come
No, I'm really thanksful that I havn't. Saw my dad do it with no anasthesia.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

I would get the wisdom teeth yanked no problems... however they charged me $325 for a single tooth a couple years ago when I went in - sure it would be around $750 for 3 teeth right now...
Hell I'm not gonna make the house payment this month by the 15th from the looks of it Not to mention the extra stress of presents, etc..
Feel like Ebenezer Scrooge this year, seriously...
