Plasma in the bedroom?

anybody here have a plasma in their bedroom?

i am currently looking for a very low end plasma for my bedroom, mainly for aesthetic value, like a 1000$ 42" once with HDMI input so I can only have 1 small cable running from my DVD player to the plasma.

would I be throwing my money away? or is it alright to get a low end plasma just to watch dvds at night and fall asleep with them? or should I really consider spending twice the money for a better plasma?

I have a perfect spot to put it, right above my dresser, instead of a mirror that would usually go there.

My advice:

Never settle for second best.

but it would barely ever be turned on, only when I feel like watching a movie in my bedroom instead of the DLP with the surround in the basement.

I saw this tv frame that looks like a mirror until you turn the TV on and then you can see the tv thru the glass.

Not sure where I saw it, but it was cool.

i blew tons of cash on stupid shit.. just reinvest into assets that can bring income in on their own.. rental property, solid domains, purchase other peoples sites, etc.. its much more rewarding then seeing an extra TV on your wall that you'll barely use.

If you have to ask for advice, then i suggest you don't get it.

Go look at the new Sony and Panasonic LCDs. Plasmas have come as far as they are going to go and are really being left behind now.

JoeMeca 12-04-2005 07:50 AM

i do! loveit to!

Spend $1000 on a good 32" instead.....its enough for the bedroom

LoriAnderson 12-04-2005 08:07 AM

my 42 inch "Elite" Plasma is my bedroom right on top of my dresser in front of the bed it almost touches the ceiling but its pretty damn sweet! I love it.. you wont regret it if you spend the extra $ on something that is not cheap :)

By what, plasmas are still far and away the best package?

I almost always buy my electronics low end. You will not notice any difference. Just a heads up but Tv's in the bedroom can lead to insomnia. I had one there for a few months and it wreaked me.

check out Proview. I think costco has them right now for about $1k ... and they are truly.... how did you put it? ... "low end" =D

Sosa 12-04-2005 09:43 AM

Why get it if it will hardly ever be turned on?

KRL 12-04-2005 09:46 AM

Personally, I think the DLP's and LCD's have superior picture quality over Plasma sets.

Shooting_Maniac1 12-04-2005 09:46 AM

Before you buy a Plasma.. make sure you check out all the Samsung LCD flat screens. You will save a few buck and I am extreamly happy with the quality. I have alot of Samsung products. I have their 60" dlp which is hands down the best TV on the market... and I have all 20" Samsung monitors for my computers and I also have this Samsung... Its a little smaller then you wanted, but its a perfect bedroom tv and your quality will be way above a cheaper brand plasma for about the same price.

I have this one, the 26", but it comes in a 32" and a 40". This 26" is perfect for a bedroom.
