Sure, that's probably the case. But he left the site up, like this, after this having been pointed out to him. Filtering out the worst words should be a matter of minutes, and replacing the main page of the site with a static/filtered alternative in the mean time would probably be a pretty good idea.

It would take about 1 minute to temporarily replace that dynamic page with a static one from which you have removed the CHILD PORN keywords. That would not "take a while", but would be an immediate temporary fix, while you get the real problem sorted out.

When confronted with it, one of the things he said was "don't hate the player", and in this thread called someone "hitler" for saying he should have taken action immediately.

He says he's taking action, which I completely believe, but it has taken 5 hours so far since it was pointed out to him, and so far he hasn't even done a quick, temporary fix. In 5 hours, he has failed to take less than a dozen words off a few main pages.

Making the mistake is understandable, and could happen to anyone. Dealing with it this way, however, is clearly wrong.

I am paying a guy to delete all of those illegal keywords that slipped in. When he gets to whatever illegal keyword blogs you speak of, they will be history...and the sooner the better.

It would have been possible to "quick fix" the most pressing part of the problem within very little time, and that would without a doubt have been the best way to deal with it.

However, I guess it's too late for that now, and it seems like you really didn't figure out any other way to do it than the one you are using now. So, the best of luck with this mess, and let's hope it gets sorted out quickly.
