It has been awhile since I wrote something, forgive me on the grammar - i fired my proof reader and its too early to care. The message comes across regardless.

Creative Pimproll spam. I agree members ask for more content nowadays but try to keep it general if you want to have a informative article :2 cents:

all articles are creative spam.

some sell ad spots or advertising, others use their writing for their own benefit, which is what you see here.

i am not fair and balanced. this is from my POV and thats it.

Fletch XXX 12-03-2005 09:44 AM

ps - i never said it was an article ;) just my thoughts as an affiliate and someone who has been working with top industry companies for more than 5 years now.

Basic_man 12-03-2005 09:46 AM

Your text is so damn true. I know too much sponsors who only put money in tour design to convert, but it looks like they don't care about the members.. shitty members area..

As an affiliate, I always take a close look at the members area before I use a revshare sponsor !

Fletch XXX 12-03-2005 09:47 AM

i have access to hundreds of members areas at any given time, and i feel most or many affiliates never will have that.

i have worked side by side with companies for a long time and i feel that its a good idea to share that experience and opinion.

Basic_man 12-03-2005 09:48 AM

Need a co-worker ? :D

Your title speaks of the industry, your content speaks Pimproll. We cant discuss much in this thread, just about your title. Which simply is true. Hope you getting my point :thumbsup

"Members Demand More Content Than Ever Before"

how does that say ANYTHING about the industry as a whole? All that says is from an affiliate stand point members demand more than ever.

If you are here just to flash your tcg sig, please stop - why is it even in business threads you trolls come out and have to disagree?

run along man, my opinion is worthless - DONT READ IT then.

as for "spam" i learned long ago to not mention company names without linking them and me getting my cut.

thats not spam, thats smart.

Well, investing in content is always a good thing, well in most. Considering that content doesn?t haven an expiry date. If you produce yourself? or if you guy it? get as much as you can and your members will stay happy :) Just my 10 cents.

I, myself have viewed a lot of members areas aswell. In fact i own several member areas myself. It's sad to see have companies just using plugins or have shitty memberareas with broken links, that just fucks up the industry. When a surfer joins these sites and feels fucked we lost another potential customer.

Getting a memberarea pass from a program isn't as hard as affiliates think, send an email/password asking if you could have a 1 or 2 day password to check if you really want to promote this program. Most will say yes, simply because they want your business.

If there are any affiliates that are reading this and would like to checkout an member area, I suggest them to signup to Adult Players Club (www.adultplayersclub.com) from there affiliate area you can instant request a 7 day password :thumbsup

as a designer, i assure you many designers are used solely to "get affiliates" and then some are sought (quietly) for their conversions for in house traffic generation.

I have worked for MANY companies who use guys like Amp and MikeW for their tours, but spend 1000s with me to do converting and high click through promo because flashy banners designed by "tour artist" type of designers dont mean shit in the real world. (not knocking either amp or MikeW) both are fabulous at what they do.

i just cant tell you how many times, ive been hit up to do "alternate" tours that are not used for affiliates, but for in house traffic gen. and this goes for not only porn tours, but other aspects of this industry like penis pills. I have worked for many many different companies ranging from Penthouse to Lightspeed.

its a well known fact that using a popular designer for tours can get you affiliates and often its the guys with the simple tours that are converting pretty good.

(again just my useless opinion)

content is king as they have said in the past :)

the major difference between small sites trying to purchase content and these big sites like Download Pass - is that these guys are cutting deals with the studios who are producing the stuff and in my eyes you cant really beat downloadable DVDs that are available at the rental places. Guys want to see these movies, but may not be able to go rent porn dvds because of the wife.

now they can watch them scene by scene on their computer.

this is a bit diffeent than site owners filling their site with content, but its all the same in the end.

a lot and good should always precede the word "content" ;)

haven't read the article yet but just will say this for now: every single members area i have ever been in, i was disappointed with. aside from one, and that was a celeb site.

they look unorganized and just put together quickly without much thought to navigation.
