Will we ever see HD webcams ?

i hope so...verizon is already bringing fiber into homes by me, so its only a matter of time till the technology catches up

Ya know I live in the middle of nowhere and have fiber hanging right outside my front door in the middle of a cow pasture. God I love this country lol That said the packages offered by the little mom and pop shop that strung it dont make it worth the switch. But the rednecks love it. I can and do get DSL here, yet the main little burg near here cant. So fiber is a good thing for them. HD cams? Good idea. Cost for the first few years will be prohibitive tho i think

yes you can, but it all depends on what bandwidth connection you choose.

won't happen anytime soon... upstream connections at homes now a days are not even close to support HD uploads...

it wont happen right away the carriers are going to milk as much $ as they can out of the lower speeds and slowly raise the speed limits and milk it again. just my :2 cents:

I'm damn near 8mbit (7 and change) and isn't 8mbit the same as 1MB? And thats about what it would take to stream the best quality HD? Thats about how I figured it up in 5 minutes anyway :)

I pay $50 a month for a comcast cable connection. nothing special.

why do you believe bandwidth will go up in price?

dedicated 100mbits at home for between $40-80/month around here. I regularly download at 2-3 MegaByte / second
