there are a few places where you can make a phone call and make anything come up on caller id

http://www.covetcall.com/ was the first i think but they got shut down by the phone companies i think site does not load any more.

U can do it online at some website.

If you want to do it at home it requires you to have VOIP from a particular subscriber, and l33t skills.

nope when i used the service when it was around it was perfect just like a normal call what they do is they call you first then they call the person that you want to call its kind of like a 3way call that's how they can fake the caller id.

yah covertcall was nice .. cheap , you could call someone from your local sherrif's office or even banned numbers like 911..

We played some great pranks on ex-girlfriends with it..

funny prank is to call from the presidents private line with a pre-recorded message and say something obscene so they call back * seeing the caller id , and shout insults at the presidents secretary..
