Bill Gates Expresses His Worries About The Xbox 360!
For everyone who bought it and are having crash problems like thousands are around the world. You should of paid attention and readup about it before buying it. Glad I did not waste my money. Although I hear the Core system hasnot had any problems.
http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/9832/B...s-on-Xbox-360/ Speaking to Bloomberg News, Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates discussed the Xbox 360, which he called ?the hottest product we've ever had?. Gates also expressed his worries about the console?s manufacturing. "We see ourselves having a higher share,'' Gates, 50, said before his planned trip to a Bellevue, Washington store for the Xbox release. "We're not going to name some magic number but we're out to give the best gaming experience and hope to get a really high market share out of that." "By the end of 2007, you'll have kind of a sense of how much did Microsoft increase its market share: dramatically, not so dramatically, did Sony mess up, what happened?," Gates said. 1,700 Worries per Machine During the interview, it was also revealed that the Xbox 360 contains 1,700 separate parts so in response to that Gates said: "For the last six months, we've been on the edge of our seats. I hope I don't get an e-mail saying ?Gosh, processor yields are too low, or this plastic factory burned down in Malaysia, so we'll have boxes but no controllers.?" "With software at least, the people who determine your fate all come to work here at Microsoft," Gates added. |
Interesting to see how this will play out...

Expresses worry about manufacturing...meaning he worries they can't keep up with demand.
Yeah...I'd be worried too. Come on. It might not happen with the XBox360, but eventually Microsoft will own your gaming and home entertainment as well as your PC. |
Also, as far as I'm aware...the premium unit and the core unit are the same thing, one just has the upgraded accessories.
The problem lies in the power supply. |
first generation xboxes had their problems too. Not as grand... but problems.
So they'll come out with a second generation xbox360 with "fixes" or "patches" to things. |
I'm holding out for the new PS3. The XBox is a cool machine but i like the backwards compatibility of each console. Good for XBox users to upgrade to the 360 but or us Sony people, i'm holding out for the PS3 which should rock equally.

I've actually been loving my Xbox 360. I haven't crashed it yet, and its nifty streaming movies to the other room to watch. I'm not a big console gamer though so I haven't played many games yet, just Madden, Call of Duty and Kameo. All of which have worked well. :)
I've always been lucky where electronics are concerned though... |
Alot of problems ive read about arent really unfixable or really all that serous. The power supply overheating and causing crashes - this is easily prevented by keeping the PS cool and ventilated. And as far as scratched games and stuff, all the things I've read were user-caused (ie moveing the box from horizontal to vertical or vice-versa while the machine is running)
The issue with keeping the PS cool will more than likely be resolved by a redesign for future 360s. Given the millions of units they moved, the problems have been minor. |
he's a mastermind...
|
The Premium actually comes with emulator software to play the 200 xbox titles...
The core doesn't have this readily available... |
do not underestimate William... :D

do not underestimate the power of William... :D

Of course there were going to be issues. He was in too much of a rush to get it out before Xmas. He's a year a head of everyone else but look at the mess. I figured I would get it for the kids next year when all the bugs and kinks are worked out. Just like buying a brand new car in a new line of vehicles. Most times they're lemons IMO.
