    Why do some sponsors ask for w9 and others not

    i have 3 out of 30 sponsors that want a w9...lol

      I'm not an attorney or an accountant, but I'll take a guess.

      First off, some sponsors aren't from the US and just don't care.

      Then you have different kinds of sponsors. Some allow the credit card processing companies send you checks directly, where as some other sponsors take the checks from the credit card processing companies and then the sponsor cuts you a check. Lightspeed Cash does the latter and our accountant / attorney tells us we have to get w9 forms from you.

          I haven't been able to log into ARS for years because I haven't faxed one in...how come they can't used the online version like some have?

            Yes after I signed up and found out I had to do that I never went further ...

            It is not that I don't want to but so many other sponsors don't make me do anything so ... Guess I am lazy when it comes to that
