This is the GOOD stuff! Adopting a newB is rewarding!

Got this email today... very nice, made my day! Who says you can't be in our business and feel rewarded in LOTS of ways...

"Howdy Brad

Its Alberto from FLiXXXS.com and I was kicking myself for not sending this email sooner but... I just wanted to say thank you for "adopting a newbie" while in LA for WebAcess. I appreciate it greatly and you extended yourself beyond a simple courtesy. The 45 minutes or so that I spent at the dinner table was probably the most informative and best time spent in my short visit. That was my 1st conference and I'll be in Vegas so hopefully we can say Hi again. Once again, thanks for your hospitality. Take care."

I just went and checked out his TGP... man, what an awesome design! Definitely a very genuine person - some of you should check it out and trade some traffic, even if it's just a little bit! :)

Take a peek: http://www.flixxxs.com

Cheers,

Brad

The flash intro looks cool - but I don't think that is such a good thing for a TGP

I like to think it makes for some good karma... by my experience, everything comes full circle and I feel like I'm reaping the rewards of that these last few years.

...and you are right to say that the flash intro isn't needed. But thats why i put it in there. I want to give more than what people expect from a TGP. So far, in the month and a half we have been live, the feedback has been positive. I want the user to have soemthing more to look at than just text.... i'm particular like that, what can i say?

thx for the feedback!

ok - fair enough.

I would add a bookmark button on this page. Or explain that CTR+D will add the page to their favorites.

But thats just me. I have no proof that "X" amount of surfers actually use them - although I'm sure some do.

we appreciated your company, any friend of brad mitchell is a friend of ours

baddog 11-30-2005 03:55 PM

I got a similar email yesterday:

Hey Baddog,

It was good to meet you at Dave Levine?s party in L.A. during the Webmaster Access. I really appreciate the tips you gave me for GFY (I listed you as my referrer) and on the industry in general. I took your advice and found a friend who has a dirt bike and a bit of land to ride on and I?m going to start riding that way so I can eventually graduate up to something bigger and eventually get myself a Harley. Hope all is well out in California. Take care and hopefully I?ll see you in Las Vegas.

Jeremy

Hope I don't read about him killing himself on a bike though.

I should also give props to Kathleen @ Guba for the introduction to Brad. Standing next to her was the equivalent of walking the floor...
