Apparently it is caused by winds sweeping across Death Valley.
No one has ever seen the rocks move. It is considered a phenomenon. |
Turkish crop circles?
ADG Webmaster |
Found it on a site, the guy explained he got lucky and found it.
Totally strange. |
how the, what the, weird
|
Cool..those must be pretty strong winds to move that

Odd thing is, you would think if the wind were that strong that it would resurface the land. |
what a great pic what a beautiful sky

WG |
That's just weird...
|
Wow... really cool pic! Is it for real?
|
Shad up Peaches.
Thats a sweet pic, if I recall there are a couple of rocks that are doing this. They say when the rains come they cause the desert to become slick then the wind pushes the rock. If thats the case it has to be a mighty wind, since it looks to be pushing alot of mud in front. |
umm yeah can we see some ass now?
|
boooooooooooooooring
|
In all reality, I would have to guess that it has something to do with the magnitism of the earth.
|
Looks like it was taken by Fred Miranda, right?
|
The picture was taken by a guy on a photo site I visit, not Miranda.
Here is his quote: ::::: This was taken at the Racetrack in Death Valley. I did nothing to this rock, no one knows why but these rocks move on the dry lake bed. No one has ever seen them move but the trails make it obvious that they do move. The most common belief is that the wind pushes them across the surface when it's wet.::::::::: ::::::: |
thats a cool pic

Weird photoshop...
|
Nah...
I aint buying it. Impossible, nice chop though. |
Photo is simple after looking.
The trail is a tire track, the other tire track been cloned out, the rovck was dumped where it sits and the tire track had the desert cracks cloned in to it to look cracked similer to the surrounding areas. However cracks like those would not occur within a crevice as such, especially in a wind or frequent flash flood environment. The photo is a hoax. |
Rather big rock of crack...
|
maybe the rock is alive and moves on its own...duh!
|
nice pic
why is the rock not dirty from rolling about? |
That is a very nice pic wegcory. Where is that?
|

It does. Have you ever driven into Death Valley? That place is a trip, and it is quite obvious what the wind and rain has done over the years. It is so much like being on another planet, that they used to film science fiction flicks out there because it was perfect as another planet. |
that sure is strange
|
Maybe it's ants underneath the rock thats moving it... :winkwink:
|
if it were wind .... or if it had anything to do with moving when damp....the trail would fade.....or not be so consistant....looks real....and AlienQ is full of malarky as usual.....I like it.....phenom it is
|
Strange, if that is really is true.
|
that's awesome :thumbsup
|
I don't think that is photoshop. It is a phenenemon that has been talked about before.
