Who here has a Green Card?
 

A friend of mine from Poland is trying to get a Green Card in the United States. He is having to just through crazy hoops and seems endless. Can anyone here give any good advice to help?

Give up. Right now, it is a major pain in the ass. Just wait till King Bush gives up the crown.

Yeah lol not that easy for a guy to get some chick just to marry him for a green card they want love and all the other bullshit.

Make sure he signed up for the lottery. It's free anyway, but I think this is the last year.

Here's a tip.. Even if he is unlucky enough to find an American woman who will marry him he still has to go through a background check with immigration ( that can take 6 weeks or longer ) after they marry. If the check comes back with any sort of criminal record, drug abuse, or serious illnesses like Aids he will not be allowed in. If he does get in that American wife can and will take him for 50% of anything he brings to the USA or earns here while they are married.

my step dad moved to the states from the UK
he has been here 6 years and has had the paper working in process for 6 years

he has some past charges of protesting n shit so that is why it is taking longer

but it is almost done - but it has cost a SHIT load of money
