Wireless is too freakin' cool!
 

I'm chauffeuring my aunt around today, one stop a doctor's appointment. So I brought the laptop I bought yesterday to have something to do and ripped a DVD to the hard drive before I left home.

When I turned the laptop on here at the doctor's office it said there were wireless networks in range. I was surprised to find there are 5 and 2 are unsecured:)

I do that every where i go ... most people just plug and play ... never set the security .. :thumbsup

My phone(imate sp5m) has wifi as well..

I pick up signals almost everywhere. It's awesome

I have driven around town looking for them some times. I love the cities that have them open and free in the downtown area.

NYC got wifi everywhere. Although I still don't use my ipaq for anything but the phone =/

People are too aware here in Sweden. Hard to find open AP's :(

I dont actually have an internet connection at my new place in barcelona , I just use unsecured wireless all the time

It's always fun to do that...Especiallly when you are in a boring place trying to kill time!

It definitely made the doctor's office more fun. I did a speed check and I was getting just a bit under a 1MB connection :upsidedow

I was even more surprised later when I went over to my mom's house and there were 3 unsecured connections. Most everyone on her street are in FEMA trailers, so I guess they are beaming their signals around. There's no wireless picking up in my neighborhood other than my own, but there are only a handful of people that have returned to my block.

be careful in FL they arrested a guy for that.

For what? It's not like I was riding around and sitting outside people's houses. For all I know it was a public access point coming from the hospital across the street. :upsidedow

Clusters of major hotels are often good hotspots - especially in Niagara Falls. I usually find a few unsecured lines there.
