I understand that, but I'm being honest with him on how dangerous benzo's can be. Addiction to benzos is not like other addictions. Obviously, there are psychological and physical components. One is not detoxed from benzos just by ridding the drug from your system. You need time for your brain to heal which can take months up to a year. This is because (okay, I'm rusty on this part) benzos create extra gaba channels in your brain that fire indiscriminately when you cease taking the drug. Because my brother is a drug addict, and no matter how good the pill, I could never get addicted, it makes me sick to think about it. As I've said, I've taken Valiums in the past, as well as others, and I really can't get addicted. Why?
