we are using one as well - its a great camera - and the HD format has lots of potential, even though it is a bitch in post production - takes lots of rendering time and you need a fast machine - capturing has been an issue esp. scene identification - any idea on a program that does it??? tx

Just bought the smaller version to put in a race car - so far looks good in preview
but will see how it holds up with all the motion.

I went with the Z1U, the FX1 isn't really even in the 'prosumer' category, I like gadgets.

I think its almost 2006 , and that makes you a tad late to start with this HDV stuff :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

HD post-production is a nightmare, I just hope you haven't underestimated what it takes in terms of computing resources and time to get HDV content run through the ringer (capture, editing, encoding) and put online.
