McCartney attacks China over fur
Sir Paul McCartney has vowed never to perform in China after seeing horrific undercover footage of dogs and cats being killed for their fur.
The former Beatle also said he would boycott the 2008 Beijing Olympics after viewing the footage taken in a fur market in Guangzhou, southern China. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/4476664.stm maybe he should boycott his own country as well now the british army footage hit the media where old soldiers perfoming acts of abuse to new soldiers like kicking someone in the face till he pass out and torturing them. |

I saw the video and i came to a completely different conclusion..
The cats and dogs shown in the video had collars and were of hundreds of different breeds. these arent "farmed" they are obviously stray's.. to some this is even more horrendous until you stop and think about it.. People in china have pets too, do you think they would allow people to publicly abduct animals to kill for fur... it doesn't even make finacial sense.. But heres a more likely scenario... China is big , WAY bigger than u.s.a. , or england, do you know how many strays the u.s.a and england put to sleep every year ( i.e. KILL ) TONS, now extarpolate that data for china , and they have TONS of stray animals.. Int he u.s.a. they spend money on drugs to inject the animals to kill them , then more money to burn and dispose of the bodies.. In china they "recycle" the otherwise useless dead bodies of stray animals into something USEFULL and SALEABLE ... Seems like common sense to me , china makes money from us selling us what we would normally throw away and burn... |
This is the same guy that used to walk around in a big fur coat all the time.. fucking crackhead has lost his memory

Publicity stunt. :)

Hate to break it to Sir Paulie... But this practice is still in play here in the USA...
There are companies that buy dead cats and dogs from the vet office, they use them for fertilizer, leather products, and more.... it's a lucrative business... My wife has told me about this on multiple occasions... she has been a vet-tech for over 6 years.. |

what about the british fox-hunt where dogs kill live foxes by tearing them apart? .. oohhh I forgot - foxes don't feel pain

Hey at least they eat the cats there so it's not like they are just killing them for fur..
BTW why doesn't he go on protest about the way they treat humans there? Why does it take cats to do it for him? |

so true man if beatles ever standed anything for people sir paul has already destroyed that like it never happened. i totally lost the respect i had for him when he got married again just few months after his (one and only) wife's death |
From the article, it sounds his objection is to the treatment of the animals while they're alive, not with their fur being harvested. Videos of Korean cat preparation sparked a minor furor a few years ago, as cats are similarly cooked and skinned alive. (Stileproject.com caught a lot of heat for posting a cooking vid). Fans of dog and cat meat, however, say it tastes better if you torture the animals prior to death, releasing adrenaline into their bloodstream. For fur harvesting, it sounds like it's just generally more efficient to mistreat them. Killing them early on, rigor mortis would make skinning them difficult. Boiling sacks of live cats sounds much more efficient than removing them from the sack and killing each cat individually prior to boiling. Same thing unloading them from the truck - I'm sure it's easier to skin a cat that's had its feet broken than one that's still healthy.
