Do you keep track of all your payouts?

I never really did because with checks hardly ever any payments went wrong or didnt occur at all but more and more sponsors are paying through epass nowadays and im keeping track better than i used to because for some reason it seems more sponsors than ever have missed an epass payout lately which is a disturbing trend.

But its a bitch to keep track of it since they all use different payout periods and different epass names.

Anybody noticed something similar?

Haha let me keep track of your payments and everything you dont miss and i can recover will be mine :Graucho

Sly 11-26-2005 03:48 PM

Nylz how do you do your taxes?

This is the reason I only do checks. Its a lot easier to track payments received, of course I don't usually catch missed payments unless something is waaay off.

Yeah checks are better when it comes to that. Its also a difference if you promote 20 sponsors or 3. 100 bucks here 100 bucks there and you wont notice it if a 100 goes missing.

We track them. the ones that come in checks, we keep the stubs in a file. the ones that we get e-pass, we put the info in an excel spread sheet.

Jer 11-26-2005 03:53 PM

I used to keep track of all my payouts (check, epassporte didn't exist)

Fuck i should do that.

studiocritic 11-26-2005 03:55 PM

when a pay period ends on a sponsor i create an invoice in quickbooks, then i apply the checks to their "account" balance when they arrive. this is the best way we've come up with, and it makes it easy to give to our account for taxes.

Dirty F 11-26-2005 03:55 PM

But its such a bitch. Some sponsors pay weekly, other monthly. Some pay what you made last week, some what you made last month. Etc.

fuzebox 11-26-2005 04:22 PM

I keep on top of my payouts, just takes a quick glance at Statsremote, and I usually know what days are Epassporte paydays for my main sponsors.

gornyhuy 11-26-2005 04:44 PM

I dont' even balance my fucking checkbook for my personal accounts, but business I track and keep everything.

phonesex 11-26-2005 04:46 PM

I keep track and call them when it does not arrive.

Babagirls 11-26-2005 04:47 PM

every single sponsor, every single sale, every single paycheck.
its my money & no one is gonna watch it for me.

slapass 11-26-2005 05:09 PM

You have to track this stuff. Sponsors have and do go out of business.

Doctor Dre 11-26-2005 05:11 PM

I only check when I do my comptability ... for the online payments . For checks payment, I do.

spacedog 11-26-2005 05:31 PM

I have an accountant at the bank who handles everything. I get a monthly statement from the bank as well. The bank has it setup for quarterly tax witholdings so it's not such a big lump sum come april 15th. they keep track of the money coming in & the money going out.

I've been doing the same thing since day 1. Only way you can keep on top of it.

I check all the sponsors I use atleast once a month to see if I am owed anything or have something coming.

With ePassporte I save all the old mails I get when I receive money.
I also set it up so I get forwarded a copy of the email every time I receive a payment.
Mail -> Options -> Mail Forwarding Options :)

I don't use epass, only checks.
If it's a foreign sponsor paying in something other than us currency then I opt for the bank wire.
