What laptop would you guys get?
the hp zv6000 http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...&brows e=&s=1
or the acer ferrari 400 http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...nav=&brows e= or this http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...71&pfp=SEARCH? |
second one looks neat!
|
I would no more buy a Ferrari laptop than ... an intel motorcycle.
|
I have a hp zd8000, it's a pain in the ass. I'm typing on it right now. The cursor keeps skipping around, an oversensitive mousepad or something.
|
I just bought the HP ZD8205 with the 17in screen.
Its only 100$ more then the one your looking at, I like it. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/HP-Pa...oductDetail.do |
fuck the rest get the best Toshiba with built in CF card slot and SD slot
go for the tablet if you can |
Stay away from the 64bit laptops. They are slower than the pentium laptops. I have both a 1.7ghz Turion and a 2.8ghz pentium. Both Compaqs and the 2.8ghz if much faster and less prone to sticking.
The Turion will temporarily freeze 5 or 6 times a day and also runs unbelieveably hot. |
I have an ACER
they are doing very very well here in INDIA and all over ASIA in general :) |
I was always an AMD fan, all the computers i've built are AMDs. So for laptops, pentiums are better? Should i get an asus laptop then? Which laptop is good for the price range in $1000-2000 range? I will be mainly using it for editing my sites, all business stuff, etc.

sony or toshiba!
|
the ferrari looks good, very classy looking
|
Acer was low rated as a product line, but that was a while ago.
I have an IBM which seems to be pretty good: hard to break, fast, long battery life, and great tech support. |
The ferarri one is bs.
|
I'm a Compaq fan. 3 of the last 4 laptops I have owned were all Compaqs. I had one sony in 2002 but I gave it to my little nephew.
|
Buy Apple and be happy.
|
Looking at the specs makes it simple, if you're a gamer, get the Acer Ferrari 400 since it has the Radeon x700 graphics processor in it. If it's mainly work, go for either of the others.
THEN again, I haven't been up on the latest laptop processors, so I'm not sure exactly what the Turion Athlon is and how it compares to the standard Athlons. |
Stay away from HP, go with Toshiba or Dell
|
I like the Acer's. Cheap and works great.
Only issue I have with mine is that the plastic front cover on the screen cracked down by the hinges. But it's only cosmetic and the Acer Ferrari is made out of Carbon Fiber, so that shouldn't be an issue. |

I read a conumers report article on laptops and supposedly Toshiba, IBM and Sony have the least amount of problems and the highest customer satisfaction. |

I have 2 HP laptops. One has given me a few problems. The internal power supply unit has goine out two times, and then the hinges on the screen broke.
Function wise, I have had no problems with either one. |
I wouldn't any notebook that doesn't have Centrino mobile in it.
