url checker
im looking for something that i can load a txt file of urls in the format of http://www.domain.com/folder and have it check to see if the url is 404 or not. does anyone know of a program like this?
Xenu - good luck.
not quite what im looking for. i don't want something that checks links on a webpage but a program where i can load a text file into it or even a text file online that contains a list of urls in the form of http://domain.com/folder and tell me which ones are 404.

you can create an html file with the list of URL's and have that program check for dead links.
Yep, Xenu does that. Get your text file, and use a find/replace to make them url's, upload and run it on that page.

Any free url checker you can D/L from the mainstream file places out there can do what you are looking for exactly how was described here by saving your list as an html file on your computer and using that as the starting url for the program
