We Went To 4 Stores Today In Search Of An Xbox 360

And no luck! Even in our little hicktown they were completely sold out!

Man Microsoft is sure doing a fantastic job of "hyping" this product and making it a must have item. I'm sure we can all agree that there are probably 10 million xboxes sitting in a warehouse somewhere just collecting dust as Microsoft claims the availability of product is low.

Brilliant marketing if you ask me. :thumbsup

BIGTYMER 11-22-2005 10:56 PM

BAKO 11-22-2005 11:00 PM

Ice 11-22-2005 11:00 PM

Headless camped out at a best buy for 6 hours to get one.......... this shit is crazy. Fucking someone spent 7500 bucks to get one yesterday off Ebay

Sosa 11-22-2005 11:25 PM

spent my 8 hours at walmart yesterday for a system. sold it for a nice profit already :)

Trax 11-22-2005 11:49 PM

sosa: youre an idiot or poor
seems your time is not worth much

KRL 11-22-2005 11:51 PM

eBay said in a news report there are 1,800 of them for sale with bidding ranging from $1k to $3K right now.

Kard63 11-23-2005 08:00 AM

$1,100 + shipping and I'll send you a premium overnight right now.

go4$ 11-23-2005 08:08 AM

why do u need it

woj 11-23-2005 08:17 AM

Please excuse my ignorance, but how does the quality of the graphics compare to a nice PC with a nice video card? Is it THAT much better?

And even if it's THAT great, It doesn't make ANY sense to pay $1k+ for something that will be worth $400 in 2 months, can someone clue me in?

supply and demand...it's the same way they keep the price of diamonds so high

Tom_PM 11-23-2005 08:31 AM

Yeah, my local news had a reporter who looked all over town yesterday and all of the stores said they were sold out within an hour or so. There was even a huge line at one of the best buy's just to PLAY THE DEMO machine which they wouldnt sell.
Pretty insane.

WebairGerard 11-23-2005 08:33 AM

DH you know the flood gates will come busting open just in time for Santa. Like you said... hype and marketing!

DutchTeenCash 11-23-2005 08:34 AM

6 months and its for free with a 6 pack

Matt 26z 11-23-2005 08:35 AM

This is crazy. I watched one go from $550 with about a minute left to $700 final.

Matt 26z 11-23-2005 08:36 AM

It's not just Microsoft conspiring, it's the retail stores also. Think of all the extra traffic they get from people going from store to store searching.

Ace-wtf 11-23-2005 09:01 AM

hype hype hype :winkwink:

patience is a virtue

Vitasoy 11-23-2005 09:02 AM

Not surprising at all, that is why people waited hours before shops even opened

Paul 11-23-2005 10:26 AM

Fantastic marketing!!

Xenophage 11-23-2005 10:33 AM

my wife paid in full in august for one... they told her there were too many people before her so we can get ours some time in January. hahahahha

NaughtyAmerica 11-23-2005 10:34 AM

Same thing here in San Diego...

I did not want an xbox until all the hype started.

$700 is a good deal on a core. Premium is WAY higher.

Pornwolf 11-23-2005 11:18 AM

It's all marketing hype. If people weren't reacting like this the consumers would think it's an average game system.

LadyMischief 11-23-2005 11:19 AM

Just order it online at best buy... They will have them delivered by December 9th

Babagirls 11-23-2005 11:20 AM

i knew i should have got an xbox just to sell on ebay. damnitt.

Baker Rd 11-23-2005 11:21 AM

Microsoft is using GFY tactics to sell products... hm..

MetaMan 11-23-2005 11:21 AM

People are seriously fucking losers, its another thing why the world is so screwd up today,

wow lets camp out for hours upon hours to get a gaming box with minor upgrades.

it is absolutley ridiculous, i mean does no one work anymore?

where the fuck do you find the time to waste a day away like that?

Saeun 11-23-2005 11:36 AM

Consumers are fucking idiots.
