this is the gayest shit ever. i usually copy and paste it when i need to email the person, then i gotta sit there and delete the stupid AT and DOT and insert a @ and .

is there an actual reason for doing this? or is it just another stupid ass trendy internet nerd thing to do?

To avoid being copied and pasted into some assholes email spam program would be really the only reason I could think of. The theory is if they have to work for it they will skip you. Dont think it works really but most folks do it just to add that extra step.

Yup, I do the blah AT blah dot com thing too because I get enough spam

the spammers run bots to harvest email addys.
the bla at bal.com makes it a little harder for them.

So your email don't get harvested by bots ... I've never had too many problems on GFY thought.

You would need a very stupid person looking for trouble to harvest emails from a webmaster board ... pretty fucking dumb thing to do.

when harvesting... software will look for 'blah at blah.com' aswell.
