$205 for going 90 in a 65. Fucking 4 points on my license.

I hate motorcycle cops. They are pretty much cash registers for the State.

Better hope it's not 4 points in a 12 month period..

sickkittens 11-22-2005 06:36 PM

$205 sounds like a good deal, actually. No?

edgeprod 11-22-2005 06:36 PM

It's fucking retarded. Anything under 100 is perfectly fine.

wdsguy 11-22-2005 06:37 PM

3M TA3 11-22-2005 06:38 PM

:eek7 4 points in one ticket so of course it's in a 12 month period.

I had another 2 point ticket 2 years ago. I'm not sure what the Florida law is for traffic points but I'll look it up in a second. I think it's 8 points in a 12 month period to get a suspension.

12 points within a 12-month period-30 days
18 points within an 18-month period, including points which cause suspension under line 1 above-3 months
24 points within a 36-month period, including points which cause suspension under line 2 above-1 year

My radar detector has picked up the helicopter traps a few times.

Wilbo 11-22-2005 08:16 PM

Go to court for the ticket. I went to court last week and the cop had lost the ticket, I was found not guilty. The judge was letting everybody slide with $35 fines and probation before judgement. I always like to postpone it once, so maybe the cop will be there just for you. Less chance of him showing for one ticket instead of 30 like the day you are first scheduled.

Tom_PM 11-22-2005 08:23 PM

That sucks, they nailed ya.. You were rushing to a pile of fresh veggies to munch in your sig weren't you? That dude never gets full.

Ok..
I don't think it's that big of a deal going 100mph on a turnpike, for example, being as the limit is 65 (in this area) but going 100mph in a 35mph zone is just plain stupid. In 35 zones you're generally in a heavy residential neighborhood with schools, etc and people all over the place. Going that fast in an area like that is not only stupid, it's endangering the lives of many other people.

Sure, 100mph on a 65mph turnpike isn't smart either, but there is far less of a chance of many other people getting hurt or killed if you make a minor mistake.

KMR Stitch 11-22-2005 08:39 PM

there is a few roads that is 35 that people don't go under 50 mph on. Mainly John Young.

when the speed limit is 70 most people go 82-85. On the turnpike people do 85-90

KMR Stitch 11-22-2005 08:40 PM

The fastest I have gone was 140mph in a 45.

4am in the morning =) And made sure no cops were around

Sometimes that's true, but 100mph on a 35mph? You don't find that wrong at all? I don't care if everyone is doing 100mph in a 15mph, I'm sure as hell not going to risk other peoples' lives like that.

Like I said, on a turnpike I don't consider it that wrong to be speeding, due to the fact that it's mostly straight and there are no pedestrians, etc.

bringer 11-22-2005 09:07 PM

motorcycle cops are easy to get away from. wait til he gets close and brakecheck his ass.

Yeah 100mph on a 35 is crazy. I was doing 70 in a 35 and got pulled over.

It was like 11pm at night and they had one of those "your speed is" and I was in a neon. He let me go free and was joking around with me. So is your speed correct? I was like no it's was 2-3mph off I was like must be these tires.

I don't know where you live, or what the roads are like around there etc but around here 4am is the start of the work day for some people, and the roads are hardly empty. Cops aren't out much during that time but doesn't mean you can't be safe.

I don't know...
I could never do something like that. I'd be too afraid of hurting someone or killing someone. At that speed you don't have enough time to react to a potentially dangerous situation up ahead, and that's a fact. One quick nudge of the wheel could spin you out of control, especially with dew in the morning.

Heh.
I did get caught a couple months ago doing 80 in a 55. In my defense it was a major highway with straight roads, nonetheless it was stupid and I deserved what I got.
$210 fine
4 points on license. My state (PA) allows 6 points before suspension.

Rob 11-22-2005 09:57 PM

I was going 90 across Howard Frankland Bridge which connects St. Pete to Tampa. That bridge is like a drag strip and you see people doing 100+ on a regular basis. I just happened to get snagged right before I got over water which I should have known is a State Trooper haven.

I was in a hurry to get nowhere which is the sad part. I just can't help drivng fast in my Le Car. It's so sporty with the after market spoiler! :(

4am 0 cars it's like a Backroad to disney 2 lanes each way with a medan. There are 3 traffic lights lights total in a 7 mile strip 1 is for a school that was SOLD and being torn apart next 2 are about 3/4 of a mile from each other.
All 3 Flash yellow after 11pm There are a total of 4 Entrences to get on the road from the neighboorhoods.

and when I am doing 140mph I drive in the middle of the 2 lanes

BAKO 11-22-2005 11:35 PM

I got few of those as well

reed_4 11-23-2005 12:43 AM

That's a bad trip you experience Rob, just be more careful next time and always watch out for those "state cash registers". :1orglaugh
