I was looking for a thread on her condition because it seemed like a couple weeks ago there was a couple everyday. It is odd that no one has posted an update in awhile. Then again, it didn't seem like they were updates as much as begging for money.

totally unfair to adam and especially nikki and when she is back in action i hope she will come here and set the record straight. she was really injured, she did get dropped by her own insurance company before the accident, she has been an active member of the adult biz for a long time, and i doubt very highly enough money was raised to approach the huge medical bills. if you don't care about her welfare then fine, but accusing adam of shenanigans is not justifiable.

I dont...i just dont like the way he handled it. Appears out of blue basically demanding we donate. Ofcourse a few people question them. He totally bashes them. Refuses to say anything about the medical bills and how much is donated. He collects his money and is gone again.

i've never been in the position adam finds himself in with a friend/lover/business associate in such need of help over a medical issue. i doubt the marketing plan was as important as just getting the word out, which he did, even if he rubbed a few people wrong. this was not some sort of drive-by spam for affiliates or traffic and seems forgiveable to me and was an exception.

It was because she left the hospital real quick and all he can report after that is that she sits at home with a headache. But hey, that doesnt sound too good right if you want money.

I think he's an ass and didnt deserve all the money he got.

At first i didnt think much of it. But as time passed he annoyed me more and more. And not only me. And he also didnt do much about changing that.

Nov. 21st, 2005 - 10:15am - Its been an overall good weekend. There are some days she feels better but still somedays that she doesn't feel so great. With a head injury, it takes awhile for someone to recover. Just like when you brake a bone, it takes 6-8 weeks to recover. Well, a head trama is just as long if not longer. She'll have another ct scan next week to see how the brain is healing. I'm also hoping I can get her to make a statment sometime this week. Its not good for her to be on a computer and looking at a monitor, so I'll try to get her to tell me what she wants said and then I'll type it out. But all in all, she is slowly getting better. I'll try to get something from her in the next few days. And a special thanks to those of you that sent flowers, cards, donations and wishes. You people are great and its nice to know that people care about people.

The only way you get dropped is lying to them or not paying your premium.For illness they just raise your rates. I come from a family that works in the health insurance business.

Last I heard she was still in the hospital but out of ICU
and in need of lots of therapy-

In most states they can't raise your rates for illness either. They have to raise the rates for everyone, not just someone who has high health bills.

It looks like she was home and "out of the house" on the 16th. I haven't been paying much attention, but what was the timeline? Wasn't the accident just a few days before that?

Huh? I barely even know KB. I met him for the first time a year and a half ago and haven't seen him again since. I'm merely reading what's on the "Help Nikki" site and commenting about it.

The day I "detest" someone in this industry is the day I care too much about business and I'll retire immediately :)

my dad's company is one of the largest providers of blue cross in the state of kentucky....i am sitting here with him now, he says the ONLY reasons for being dropped from insurance are:
non-payment
late-payment
and lying

but he also said that everything depends on how a contract was written, and every contract is different depending on who you are.

but all in all, you are generally correct sir

the most common reason he says though (other than non-payment), is having a pre-existing condition and not informing your insurance company about it.

Pretty much at contract renewl time is correct for most all HMO's, etc. Some private insurance coverage have different rules depending on the company and state laws where you reside.

We deal with this crap every january when our companies Kaiser HMO is up for renewl. It seems to go up every year for everyone in our company and well most others too i suppose.

Me, the mrs, and 5 kids is like $1200+ per month. but what can you do, when you have kids - you gotta have insurance.. Kaiser is ok, 5.00 co pay visits, 10.00 drugs, Most any surgery - even open heart is like 10-100.00 :)

I have no earthly idea - this is the first I've ever heard of such a thing - I'm not the legal department, lol!
