they hide twinkies under their bed

It's in their brain. A human brain is very powerful, and has control over the whole human body, so if you manage to get more control over your brain, by meditating you can do crazy stuff like that. :thumbsup

I can hammer at least 6 monks with my bare fingers and I don't even eat rice

GFX Wiz 11-20-2005 08:03 AM

it's a REALLY big bowl of rice?

Tai Chi, 'supreme-ultimate' discipline.

FACT: Bruce Lee trained at the Shaolin Temple of Lhasa in 1967. When his training was complete, he left behind only one object -- a sweaty t-shirt. Every year, the Shaolin monks in the region make a pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Shirt to absorb his residual chi emanating from the cloth, much like Green Lantern recharges his ring with his power lantern periodically. It's common knowledge that Bruce Lee gained his awesome strength from eating a strict diet of vegetarians.

They are still getting enough meal everyday I guess.

With regard to that skill, I think, it's just skills, constant practice, and meditation.

Mind over matter, I guess. That's why they are monks.

Yes brain is powerful and all that good shit. This still does not change the fact that slamming a finger on a nail will eventually make you bleed / mutilate your finger.

hmmm, doesn't sound like the monks would do this, but maybe I'll get to find out next year when I'm at the temple. With any luck I'll be testing for a future belt rank at the actual temple itself.

I saw a documentary once about the monks in Tibet. Imagine living on a very cold place with only robes as their clothing. They meditate to battle the cold.
