Question... I was offered in exchange for $2,000 worth of content a "30,000 double opt-in webmaster list" to use for 2 months. Are these lists worth anything? Dont you just delete all your spam even if you've opted in to get it?

There is only ONE piece of opt in mail that I get that I actually read without deleting on sight.... my FareTracker from Expedia with ticket prices for the big bird to Maui.

Everything else gets shitcanned at lightspeed.

Nik, request a sample mailing to determine validity.. (clickthrough and complaint rate). Most likely it's a bullshit list because it's worth more than $2000 worth of content.

Fuck that 30.000 webmasters I would not believe that in the first place....it's too many.....and the one who posseses it would NOT I repeat NOT trade it for 2000 bucks of content.....It's a SCAM!

I have to add....someone who owns a list with 30.000 double opt in email addresses can afford content for a regular price

Someone told me you can rent the same list from NaughtyMail for $2,500. But I know personally, I get so much spam from NaughtyMail that I just delete it now. This is $2,000/monthly on content. He said they were just trying to work out trades to lower their costs... so I suppose I could go with it for a month, and if it bombs, I can just start charging them again the following month. I wouldnt really be losing much. Hmmmmm

I would never use a list that is for rent. You damage your reputation more then you will ever gain from it. Especially with webmasters....those are toes you should NOT step on....but ehh...it's your call of course :thumbsup

If you want to mail gather the email addresses yourself. With your own double opt-in mailing list....it might not be the fastest way but it's for sure the best way.
