Capital Punishment!?

Should there be Capital Punishment in ALL the World?

I think yes your punishment should fit the crime. Rapists and Mulesters (spell check again) should be branded on there foreheads and castrated with a wooden spoon...

ideas?

Well I think the worst punishments should go to people who commit murders. Because it's nobodys right to take away somebodys life.

Gemini 03-21-2002 08:06 AM

Life is more punishment... and 3-500,000 bucks to keep them versus SEVERAL million to off them? Hmmm and lets think about the stats that vary between 10-28% of people put to death WERE innocent. Depends on where you read. I know a local guy that the movie 'The Thin Blue Line' was made from that was innocent and he was almost put to death. How should we feel when WE are the killers?

How would YOU like to be in a 6x8 for 40 years? Or go out fast? More punishment in life with no chance of parole.

LoveAsianChicks 03-21-2002 08:11 AM

Why keep someone on death roll for 20 years then kill them with some expensive drug?
Just shot the fucker the minute the trial is over and it costs about .50 for the bullet.

I don't believe in the death penality, but it pisses me off more when I hear some guy was killed and it cost 50 million or something absurd.

Sjayne 03-21-2002 08:12 AM

Until you can be 100 percent sure that everyone you put to death was guilty I will be against capital punishment.

Watch a film called !0 Rillington Place. A true story of a British serial murder case where the wrong person was hung.

bunky 03-21-2002 08:16 AM

zubr 03-21-2002 08:22 AM

there should be capital punishment for spam and child porno!:winkwink:

ServerGenius 03-21-2002 08:25 AM

Death is the easy way out. Prison for life is a lot worse! Preferably on 2 sqaure meters!

dont get me wrong im not sayin that we should off every jon dick and harry that steal a pack of gum from the candy store.. im talkin convicted murders, serial killers, men and women along those lines. i agree 50 years in prison would be worse but todays prisons arent shit really i mean flash back 20-30 years and compare it to the chaingangs.. my dad was on that shit for 8 years so i know all the storys. I think 30 years of hard labor with no pay would be worse then death or some other things.

Sadly in our justice system convicted and guilty are not always the same thing.

kmanrox 03-21-2002 09:20 AM

of course it should be worldwide.... duh

who cares? 9 out of 10 we'd get correct, the others can be martyrs for an underlying cause.... kind of like me dying in war as a Marine, for some reason the president deems worthy?

also, if you are guilty enough to get convicted, you couldnt have been ALL that innocent of a person in general?

:thumbsup

Gemini 03-21-2002 09:37 AM

Kman... the old man left a slot open for you to chat with the al quada... why doncha wander over there and get some life experience. I'm SURE there are a few he missed you can play jacks with. Sheesh.

Martyr? Fer crying out loud. What grade did you get thru? 4th? Killing someone innocent in the name of justice makes US the killers. And I am positive you'd be hanging on the bars screaming in fear if YOU were the one getting ready to take a needle KNOWing you are innocent.

And do NOT give me the macho BS. I'm too old and been thru too much to believe it. Doubtful that maany others would either. Want a martyr? Go volunteer to be one or shut up. :BangBang:

BESIDES the fact that *I* pay ENOUGH taxes without paying MILLIONS to whack someone guilty or not. Some of you probably supported Ken Star spending 70 friggin million to TRY and get something on Clinton. Chasing shadows. Sheesh. I am SO sick of REpublican thinking when the regular folks are the ones that get f*cked over EVERY d*mned time.

Get a life or at least grow up. How would you feel if your brother were that martyr? If they can NOT catch them with the smoking gun IN their hand, OVER the body, then lock them up forever. :2 cents:

kmanrox 03-21-2002 09:58 AM

hey Gemini, I've done more in 26 years than you've done in your life, I guarantee it kid.... so fuck off

I guess in a case like that, the state committed a murder. What does "an eye for an eye" dictate for the state, then?

I'm for capital punishment, too, but only in cases where there can be no doubt. Juries are way too fallible. Wasn't it Illinois where DNA and such PROVED that more than half the men on death row were innocent? And what about the poor slobs in the other half where there was no DNA evidence? Probably half or more of them were innocent, too.

The death penalty simply doesn't work because our justice system doesn't work.

NetRodent 03-21-2002 10:22 AM

Better for 10 guilty persons to go free than for one innocent person to be jailed.

No, Marines JOIN and by choice expose themselves to danger. It's more like the poor slobs who died in the twin towers, except that someone on death row knows he is going to die and lives with that every day until it happens. So, it's more like torturing the innocent person and then killing him and then thinking of him as a martyr.

There is no evidence whatsoever that the death penalty performs any practical function. The places which have it are notorious for having MORE capital crime, not less.
