NHL Trade deadline
 

So what did you think of the trades yesterday?
Obviously the Pavel Bure trade is big news, but I think the most interesting trade was the one between Dallas and New Jersey.

NJ got the better deal (slightly).

My fuckin' Leafs didn't trade for anybody.. ugh. Pat Quinn never has the balls to make a good trade. All we do is sign free agents. :feels-hot

I'm a Leafs fan as well, and I agree, I think they could have made a few moves, but took care of their biggest problem right now which is goaltending. They have the offence, they could have done a deal for a D, but between the pipes I think they made a good move acquiring Barasso.

Fuck man, I can't believe they traded Arnott for Nieuwendyk! Arnott is a big young horse, and Joe N. is a veteran with bad wheels.

McKay has seen better days, and Langenbruner is 3rd line, so it's a wash there, probably just a move to balance out salary money moved. But Arnott has a lot of time left in his career. And say goodbye to the A Line. Fuck.

Man, I wouldn't be bitching if the traded Holik instead. He's as good as gone after the season anyway. But Arnott? They should have kept building around him. Now they have two soft wingers playing around a gimpy veteran who doesn't like to pass the puck.

Arnott has been playing like shit for the last two years, well since jersey has won the cup.. There were rumors he was gonna go even earlier.

yeah i am a leafs fan as well, Even though I live in ottawa, the sens fucking suck and I hate them.... The leafs are the only team ontario should have..... We need to get rid of some of the sweeds like hoglund and renberg..... they play like shit...

Too bad the leafs didn't make any kind of trade , Tom Poti would have looked nice in the Blue and White.

I think that Dallas wins the big trade hands down.
Jason Arnott definately has the most upside of all involved in the trade.

Arnott kicked ass last year. The whole Devils offense has suffered ever since Toronto signed Mogilny away. It's tough to deliver when you are up against the top checking line every night. Devs are missing 2nd and 3rd line scoring this season. And the D is getting old.

Toronto has done the very best job of signing free agents. That was a tough playoff team last year. If their D has learned from that experience, they might not need much else. Barrasso was a big pick up. He's a money goalie. I remember him stoning the Devils too many times as a Penguin. And he's not a headcase like Eddie Belfor.

Compare Toronto's free agent signings to the NY Rangers. Pat Quinn looks like Einstien.

I wanna see Todd Bertuzzi in a Toronto Maple Leafs uniform.
