I just saw tonight's ABC News segment on China's growth.

The statistics are staggering to say the least.

They build a city the size of Philadelphia every month in order to handle the migration.

They graduate over 350,000 engineers a year. 5X the number that we do.

They build 5 million cars a year and have more people studying English than we have people in the U.S.

They use half the world's cement.

I'm glad I've got friends there and fam in on it. Absolutely staggering growth.

........and absolutely staggering pollution. most of the world's most polluted cities are all chinese. thats the major flaw.

By supporting bootlegging on such a massive scale, if just the U.S. alone boycotted Chinese goods and services for a month the country would collapse.

i wish i seen the segment... i knew they were 'growing' substantially, at least military wise, but daymmmmmmmm, that shit above is crazy!

Can you imagine if they decided one day, 'hey, the US owes us $, fuck this shit, lets invade'.

Hell... they could even do a pre-emptive strike on us cuz of the Taiwan situation.

China is ramping up to be THE worlds super power.

China owns around 30% of the states. China is the biggest investor in the states, the green you are using now is probally borrowed from them. The states are actually bankrupt. Printing money is what it keeps going.

Nah, China knows communism is kaput. It never works. They had to go capitalist in order to survive.

They fell for the 'buy American debt and insurance policy viaticals' just like a bunch of asian investors did for decades and each decade they fall on their asses. China has U.S. debt but that debt is bullshit debt. To insure it they have to get Europe to back it up. Europe owns our asses anyway through family ties. China technically is owned by European banking cliques.

Capitalism, communism aren't going to work for China. Playing the money game isn't gonna work for China.

The human rights issue is gonna backfire on them like it always does.

I give China 10 years on the outside before it falls in on itself from disease, political conflict and natural disaster.

I am learning Chinese.

If you knew how long it takes to learn the two forms of Chinese plus how to write it, you would scream.

Not forgetting there's several slang forms you must know.

I've seen some ground photos of their cities as well... it's just unbelieveable that humans (or any life form) can exist amidst such pollution. The air was literally dark brown, and that wasn't a small cloud of pollutant, it covered everything that could be seen!

And if countries change their federal reserve to the euro....

In the end, its going to do them in. They have virtually just started up their industrial engine and pollution is already choking at them. Many experts have predicted their levels of pollution to be FIFTY TIMES GREATER than at present in the future; we are talking about literally unliveable levels.

China is cracking me up. I emailed with some pals there. They can't take the pollution or the rural ickyness. They say that Arnold and Bush's visits to China are about money and face time and trying to be like their hero Nixon.

If China doesn't catch on fast, they'll be in major trouble in a few years.

India's delivering around one million engineering graduates every year. I'm gonna study mandarin soon too.

China is the one country in the world I have no desire to visit. I'll do Antartica before china.

well their economy is definitely improving the main issue they have is the human rights.

No country will ever invade the US because of our high gun ownership rate.

We are pretty much the only country in the world were our citizens can defend the country against a land invasion.

besides india/pakistan china is the fastest. Also the most troublesome. But still the $ per head is 12% ahead. Thats enormous.

Still adult there is far far away imho.
