The "REAL" Biblical position on abortion
Bible thumpers always use the bible and God as their justification for opposing abortion. They like to quote verses like Jeremiah 1:5. (Before I formed you in the womb I knew you)
Even though abortions did happen in biblical times the bible is silent on the issue. However, simple logic will lead us to the conclusion that the bible does indeed endorse and in most cases even insists on abortion. It's a simple as this. The penalty for adultery is death. This was strictly enforced under the law of Moses. If an unwed woman was found to be pregnant, she was obviously an adulteress. (Remember in the strictest sense adultery is sex outside of marriage, neither of the parties have to be married for sex to constitute adultery under biblical law) So the unwed woman who was found to be pregnant would be stoned to death, not only killing her but of course killing the baby. So really, the true biblical position on abortion is that not only should we kill the fetus, but the mother as well. (Since the vast majority of women seeking abortions aren't married, or are married but were impregnated by someone other than their husband) So I guess if you want to be a true religious conservative you shouldn't stop women from going into abortion clinics, you should kill them on their way in. Also, you shouldn't want supreme court justices that will overturn Roe V Wade. You want justices who will amend Roe v Wade to state that the unwed mother also needs to be aborted. :2 cents: |
thanks for the update, we'll get on it

Wrong. The real biblical position is that if one causes a woman to have a miscarriage, one must pay her husband a few dozen silverlings.
