I already pre-registered but I'm scared about going because I never went to a porno convention before, plus I don't know ANYONE there at all, so I hope someone will be nice and talk to me. I've posted here a lot but I don't actually know anyone from here in real life... Does anyone wanna meet me there in the lobby and talk to me so I won't be scared? lol

And I won't make it till tomorrow so I'll probably heading there sometime tomorrow...

Relax. You really have nothing to worry about. Open yourself to the idea of having fun and you'll have a blast.

You should go. The conventions are always a good time and while there is alot of drinking and partying, there is ALOT of business. Guys will ask you if you are an industry model, but they don't harrass, at least I've never been harrassed. Everyone is cool and down to Earth. The conventions are about making contacts and building business relationships so that we all can make more money! :winkwink: I'll be in LA on Friday if you want to meet up.

Agreed. But if you don't know anyone, you'll probably have to make the first effort to go up and introduce yourself to people.

The only time I usually hear of someone not having a good time, is when they've said that noone would talk to them. You can't EXPECT people to just walk up to you. Some may, but don't count on it.

If you're a wallflower, you're wasting your money. If you're willing to be extroverted (in the good sense), you'll walk away having had a blast, and hopefully done some business along the way.

Although you may feel nervous because you do not know anyone you will find that almost everyone will be very friendly. Just be yourself and have fun and I am sure you will leave with new friends and business contacts. I went to my first show 6 years ago and I was scared to death. But the first minute I walked into the room people were coming up to me and introducing themselves. Now all these years later some of the people that I have met over the years and have been in contact with have become like family to me.

Aside from a few whacko's there is no reason to be scared. And I dunno why but the term Porno Convention just sounds .... Blah.. weird, negative, maybe scary. I think the title Adult Internet Convention seems more like it. Although it is an adult convention not as much freaky stuff goes on as a newcomer would think. Aside from some heavy partying and the occasional orgy LOL and a few flashing themselves it is a pretty professional operation.

I've never heard of any problems regarding this. People should always watch their drinks regardless, but you make it sound as if there are guys running around ready to prey on the weak. That isn't the case. In fact, from what I can tell most male webmasters are fairly protective of the webmistresses so that problems like this DON'T happen.

Actually, this is a VERY good point...but don't let that keep you away either.

I have never heard of anything like this happening either. I have always found that most webmasters or people in the industry look out for one another. I am sure there are a couple dirtbags out there that may give our industry a bad name but for the most part people would not harm another and if they did...... They would get their ass whooped real fast. :thumbsup

I take that back. I know of 2 instances, they were both dealt with quickly. I suppose you may know of others, though if there's a problem with someone running around drugging girls I hardly think it should be kept a secret. :2 cents:

The two incidents that I know of, noone was ever caught, but the person had other people around them, so nothing happened either. I don't want to think about what MAY have happened.

You're right, I don't think it's a BIG problem, but one that women should certainly be aware of. It's not my place to say who it was, and without the person being caught, it'd be pointless anyways.

Despite my previous sarcastic post I think it would be a mistake for you not to go.

I have been to 75% of the conventions in the last 5 years and have had nothing but positive expeirences. ( not including hangovers)

As a fulltime webmaster you owe to yourself to go out and network with people that you have common business interests with.

and have some fun while you're at it.
