I just hired a new photographer and got him to do a test shoot with this new model. What do you think? (both of the photography and the model)...
I like the top photo...nice model, good pose, and good photography.
Overall, I'm not a big fan of studio shoots. They come off as somewhat sterile and contrived to me (especially when it's an over-used stylized pose). I like more natural settings and photos that have more of a voyeuristic feel.
its studio work but not bad... ask him to put some stuff there plants plaids whatever to make a scene, lotsa surfers appreciate that. but both are nice
You might want to check the color balance on these shots... they are quite brown and "old" looking... I played in photoshop for a very few minutes and it was easily to come up with a filter set that made all of those pictures looks MUCH better.
The model isn't terrible, she should play up the red hair a little more, it's rare enough to make her worth the effort.
Thanks guys. yeah, I'm not a big fan of studio shoots, but for the project I'm working on, it's ok. First picture is my fav. 2nd I agree about the highlights, and #3 I don't personally like the contrast between the background and the model. But all in all, not bad and I could work with him to improve...

What filter settings? I'd be curious to see the difference. If you could, send a sample to my email (below). I'm off for now...will be back late tonight...

No, post the sample here.. I am curious too. I have that golden/brownish color in a lot my older shoots too. I learned more about white balance and it really makes a difference
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

Not crazy about the shoot - girl looks cute and certainly can be made to look better - need better poses - better lighting and a photographer who can direct the model...
Great model. The photogtapher needs a little more work with models as I don't think he really captured this model well. Although maybe she's a terrible model and he made her look good but I think she's way hot and he needs a little more experience.
The photographer is primarily an underwater photographer (both marine life and female models). Plus, I was trying to get him to do something he's not as familiar with to see how he handled it. That might explain a lot. Thanks for everyone's comments.
if your photographer did 11-15 sets (80-120 images) like this in a day he is excellent value and a great talent!
if your photographer did 7-10 sets like this in a day he is good value and a good talent
if your photographer did 4-6 sets like this in a day he is not good value and a below average talent.
if your photographer did 1-3 sets like this in a day he ?.. Well I think you know

Get rid of him.
Too many other shooters out there who won't need as much "coaching."
Why people shoot shit like this is beyond me. It's not porn but it's a very insulting stab at shooting fine art.
