What if your main sponsor suddenly bottomed out?

You have hundreds of pages pointing to it, loads of ads and months worth of work put into it...then suddenly...BLAMO, you're spending more than your making....what would you do if your main sponsor suddenly crapped out?

been there done that. twice.

just try to diversify... its what im doing. caught me WAY off guard and now im playing catch up instead of starting new projects.

Format C:

404 every page on your server to a New sponsor, while you start over...

Hunt them down and kill them?

Never put all your eggs in one basket..

I am sure most of us that have been around for any length of time have had sponsors disapear on us without warning.

Somewhere along the line I figured I would rather get a bunch of small checks each month then a few big ones. That way if a sponsor tanks out it isn't that big a hit.

It would not be a big deal for me. I make sure to have several sponsors so that if one goes under the others can take over. Right now there are 5 programs that I am using and I am always testing new ones just in case. You never want to put all your eggs in one basket. :Graucho

having been around a long time and been through this years ago one to many times, you have to look ahead . Use add rotation scritpting, where you can log into one control panel and with the click of a button, start changing your adds to whatever you want,Its a pain in the ass to setup and get a solution working, but it is nice to be able to try out sponsors at any time by updating things this way when you have thousands of free sites.

Ah, don't get me wrong...I have other sponsors that are keeping me a float, just my main sponsor seems to have died....I have loads of galleries and fpa's for this sponsor & have been making bank with them the past few months. So, I can't decide if I should switch or try and tough it out (lord that would be ALOT of shit to change over)

With SSI you can change hundreds of ads on hundreds of pages in minutes....

I don't know what I'd do if Amateur Pages ever went down. Hopefully Lensman is taking care of his finances the right way, he he he.

Actually, that is a great rule to spread out the sponsors that you use on your pages, that's what I do. I do make an exception for AP, other than AP, I have a few other sponsors that I use.
