Is there a way to get email alerts from GFY?

Well is there?

NaughtyRob 11-15-2005 04:44 PM

Haha. No.

Luckily I have affiliates that spam our proggy, or friends that tell me about threads, but an email alert is really a necessity over here.

you can flag a thread and i think get emailed when it is replied to.

Yeah, the thread subscription thing. I really need alerts. If they don't have it they mine as well let BT do it for them don't ya think?

I have a program built for vbulletin to respond to keywords in titles, if i simply made the post with "instant email notification" on the post you would be emailed any response to the thread. I could setup a demo for you.

but in order to work like bt it would create quite the pull on gfy if everyone was doing it.

I've tried that and it's never worked. I could be doing something wrong though.

O.K. this would work.

They have a option to monitor a site for text changes.

They will check it every so many minutes and email you if a certain text is shown. :winkwink:

I keep a close eye on such things and if it looks like excessive spidering I tend to permanently block the IP's though. :Oh crap
