on NOV, 21, 2005 we will payout $100 for the best design suggestion we use.

www.PB3X.com Pandora's Box is running a $100 contest for the best re-design suggestion.

here's the deal.

we have contracted Dickmansdesign to do the design.

now look over the 'draft design' that Dickmansdesign came up with for the home page and join form and make suggestions in this forum.

the winner of the $100. will be determined by myself Adam and John of Pandora's Box and Milena with Dickmansdesign

Well, my only suggestion is that there is too much below the fold. I'd shrink the header some, lower the fonts to close up the blue and red box so that the entire row that starts with Hustler can be seen when you open the page.

First and foremost Id have to say - throw a logo contest. throw up $250 for a decent logo, a vector one...I mean hey, this is Pandoras box were talkin here..if you put up a $250 prize your gonna get some decent entries and counts on here. The logo is barely visable and wont resize as it is. For lack of better words...it looks unprofessional. The logo is the "boom" and a starting point. base the design of the site with a two/three color vector logo. Your logo is the main problem imo.

Second- Black and baby blue with grey and red is a bit much...black is out long ago.

How would you describe Pandora's Box ? on a logo.. it's tuff, considering pandora's box is a collection of all the best content online. in one BOX.

our developers made the logo, just like the rest of the site and system.. nice to see ya slaggin me in our own thread rob.. thanks.. ;-0
so i see the xbiz readers can't stand it all either.. except the current site got props.. however I still agree a redesign there would be good.. the layout anyway... I disagree that the content providers need to be total focus.. its the products people want.. sure we can drop names like Hustler etc.. but CyberSynergism aint exactly a top-notch provider anymore with content that constantly updates..hence their products position in the database.. we should have platinum feeds in there.. and we will... then we'll have over 35 reality sites in there...plus all the niche stuff.. not bad value, and I'm dropping the price soon.. that'll help.

Adam, I didn't think you used gofuckyourself.com, anyway I like the feed back we are getting. post more comments if you have the time ;-)

I like your suggestion adding platinum feeds, hey if we pick each others suggestions we take the cash. it's $100. that will goto pay a bill I have lol our suggestions haveto be real and better then whats posted.

I suggest that we make the top logo and bar disappear and placed at the bottom, then make all content providers smaller logos and descriptions smaller, then BLOW UP the HOT content products 'that everyone wants'- in design terms BLOW UP the products right off the page. effect, bubble effect..

Rob with PlayerBucks, Milena with DickmansDesign, John PlayerBucks and Adam PlayerBucks will pick several suggestions from board posts and come up with 1 winner. so far the feedback is excellent.

keep'em cuming, the more suggestions you make that we use the better your chance of taken home the cash. monday we will determine a winner after review over this weekend.

My biggest concerns would be the use of too many industry terms like content providers. Surfers don't talk or think like that. They don't know what AEBN or PluginFeeds are. Maybe a small percentage do, but most have no clue. OF course names like Vivid and Hustler set off signals in a surfers mind but you need to convey how great the other plugins are with more than just their logo.

Also, it's nitpicking but the line "full access, you can download everything" isn't true. Most of the feeds just stream. You can't actually download and save them.

The girls up top in the header look real orangey and blurry. That could be done much better, and there is NO reason for the giant webmaster link in the header. Bury that shit so savy surfers don't go exploring. Besides, any real webmaster knows where to find that link.

I think the design looks good though. I am a secret fan of dickman
