Hey guys

I've been reading the boards here for quite awhile and it's pretty obvious that many succesful webmasters regularly browse and post here.

As such I am asking for input from you guys on a script I wrote for all fans of TGPs, specifically when it comes to making the actual thumbnail galleries.

The idea was to write a script that made it easy for the webmaster to generate a thumbnail gallery page complete with recips, thumbnails linked to their respective images and a main banner complete with link and text.

I want to know what you guys think should be added/deleted, what should be changed, what you would like to see etc.

I think you wasted your time dude...

First off, people that make galleries like this don't make sales. You simply can't put 20 thumbnails with a banner on top and bottom anymore. You have to be WAY more creative to compete in the TGP market today. This is why you hear so many people bitch about tgp traffic and conversions.

Also, if you're too lazy to make a gallery that will sell then why bother. Just lie down and go to sleep.

Hmm...well certainly constructive criticism but now I want to go sit in the corner and cry.

It also seems a little bit like you didn't test out my script fully. The recips are what go at the top or bottom, the banner goes in the middle of the thumbnails.

If you would be so kind as to share the infinite wisdom you seem to have about TGP galleries and suggest how I might make the gallery more effective I'd be eternally grateful.

That would be k-rad.

Banners should be avoided on TGP galleries...no one clicks them and they are a bandwidth drain.

I can make a gallery in dreamweaver faster than I can using your script..

a good gallery layout should take around 2 hours to complete,,, mass making galleries usually don't do too good

Thanks a lot for your input guys, you've made some very valid points. I guess it's back to the drawing board.

For those of you who have profited well with thumbnail galleries: what do you think makes them so succesful? Is it something a script can replicate?

While I was making the gallery I kept it simple for the sake of bandwidth, if you submit to a good tgp such as the hun and then have a fancy gallery come up with lots of pretty graphics and what not, you may just barely make up your bandwidth bill with the earning from the gallery.

Anyways, thanks again for the suggestions, I'll certainly take them under heavy consideration.
