It's probably an affiliate database that been hacked, so the guy is sending them an epassporte phishing email thinking he can get some fish..

pr0 11-14-2005 08:30 AM

nojob 11-14-2005 08:34 AM

I will continue using them because paypal likes to to play games and take your money. When Epass messes up and it says you have a 0 balance (when you do not) , it gets fixed usually with in 2 hrs or less with your real balance. Also , paying .25 to transfer money , is nothing.

Screaming 11-14-2005 08:53 AM

With as many paypal ones we see daily it was only a matter of time before someone went to epass.

Dalai lama 11-14-2005 08:56 AM

better watchout :thumbsup

maxxxxx 11-14-2005 09:26 AM

Since when would Epassporte have to use an IP number as verification URL?? Phishing.

Evil Doer 11-14-2005 09:33 AM

Silent_Thunder 11-14-2005 09:46 AM

oh, that could lead to increased distrust of Epassporte. Hopefully Epass users are more clever than Paypal ones.

ffmihai 11-14-2005 09:54 AM

Our email and entire system is secure and has been. These phishing attempts are increasing for every product or service or bank in the world. We do not EVER email you outside of ePassporte, except when you set up a new account, then just once.

If you ever get an email from ePassporte outside of your ePassporte email, do not reply.

You need to think before you come up with claims of them being "hacked." I received a similar epass phish the other day, it was addressed to - wait for it - an email address I use exclusively for USENET (news). Nothing at all to do with adult, or affiliate programs.

Phishing is similar to spamming, indiscriminate mailing of address lists in the hope that someone will bite. I use multiple email addresses so it's not unusual to receive a few of these in a row, each sent to a different address.

epass was not hacked.

'So Fucking Money 11-14-2005 02:39 PM

It's probably very new to the customers so I'm sure there's a lot of people doing it. It's sad to see how stupid people are when it comes to computers....and well life in general.

rowan 11-14-2005 03:01 PM

I just noticed you posted your email address in clear text... I guess that will get you added to more phishing lists. :1orglaugh
