Any other Red Dwarf fans here?
Just finished watching the commentaries on the season seven DVD that just came out.
My faveorite sci fi(ish) show. |
Only started watching it because it came after Blackadder here for a long time.
Fuuny show, but not much holds a candle to Blackadder in all it's incantations. My 2c |

I like Blackadder too but they are different animals. |
Some weeks ago, I found a Red Dwarf dvd at work. I had NO idea what this was, so I thought I might check it out, thinking it looked like some sci fi action! Well was I suprised. :1orglaugh
Took me a couple of episodes to adapt, but then I loved it! Haha... |

The soundtrack for RED DWARF was composed by great guitar player from CZech - Mr. PAvlicek - he is a guitar player one of the best rock groups in Czech rep - "PRAZSKY VYBER" and he got many awards for Red dwarf soundtrack

On my bookshelf: http://sjayne.com/starbug2.jpg The theme song always gets stuck in my head for days after watching the show. |
dwarfs? where?
|
I never did figure out what was supposed to be funny about Red Dwarf. But hey, if it works for other people, that's cool. At least it's not like most British sitcoms, which are funny to nobody at all.
|
I used to watch that show all the time when I lived in England. And both Red Dwarf books I have ("Infinity welcomes careful drivers" and "Better than Life") are amongst the funniest things I`ve ever read...
I really miss that show,I might have to get the DVD`s... |

I'm definately a fan! I got introduced to it when they we're broadcasting the original series on the BBC. Later the first couple of series were adapted for the DVD and rebroadcasts. I still have the original BBC recordings somewhere. I do have the DVD's. In two weeks there's a read drawf meeting in Birmingham, England. I have the tickets sitting here. I'll definately be there! ;-)

In fact one of the very first websites I saw was "swirly thing alert" a fansite made by one of my mates back in the day when he was the only guy around that had a net connection.. heheh. Definately one of my fave series of all time. :thumbsup |

The meeting is the weekend of the 26th of November. There will be a who bunch of other things there as well, the original cast will be presenting the series VII DVD. I could order it over the web, but I thought it was more fun to drive over there and buy it ;-)
More info at http://www.reddwarf.co.uk/index.cfm?...e_moments.html I won't be competing in the costume competition... but who knows... with the way I dress... I might still win ;-) |

Yeah, I will be in the States or I would probably take the train up. I was thinking of this - they have it every year. If I am in the country whenever it is this year I may well go. |
Sounds like anoth weekend I'll be at! ;-)

Well say hi :) I won't be doing the costume thingies either. I like the show but there are levels I won't go to. On one of the DVDs they extras include something about the Dimension Jump weekends and there is a woman that has all the charcters tattooed on her body. Very odd. |
I'm Big fan of RD

Oh - and yes a superb show. One of the few things I can watch repeats of :) Favouirte episodes are the one with the Arny Rimmer fair ground ride and the one where he gets a virus and turns mad :) Loads of great episodes though although not quite as funny when the crew were bought back to life. BTW - for those that have now idea about the meaning of smeg (I believe it's not used toooo much outside of the UK... smeg=smegma=cock cheese :) |
all that is not good

If you're in trouble, he will save the day He's brave and he's fearless, come what may Without him, the mission would go astray He's Arnold, Arnold, Arnold Rimmer Without him, life would be much grimmer He's handsome, trim, and no one's slimmer He will never need a Zimmer He's Arnold, Arnold, Arnold Rimmer More reliable than a garden Strimmer He's never been mistaken for Yul Brynner. He's not bald and his head doesn't glimmer Master of the wit and the repartee His command of space directives is uncanny How come he's such a genius? Don't ask me Ask Arnold, Arnold, Arnold Rimmer He's also a fantastic swimmer And if you play your cards right, then he just might come round for dinner He's Arnold, Arnold, Arnold Rimmer He's Arnold, Arnold, Arnold Rimmer |
