Same here man. In fact, I used to play in a couple hardcore bands back in the day and put out a bunch of 7 inches. Man, the DIY scene was incredible. Just the thought of it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I remember my old band and friends just piling into cars to roadtrip to shows up and down the east coast.

Those were some wild times...

Minor Threat was the first punk/hardcore band that really made me get into that scene. When "Out of Step" came out, man... that just blew me away.

Of course, other favorites back then were Gorilla Biscuits, youth of today... pretty much any of the stuff on Revelation Records.

Old school NJ fans should also remember bands like Turning Point, Lifetime, Mouthpiece and Resurection.

After all this posting, I'm going to have to dig up some old music. I have those 7 inches still but no friggin' record player anymore.

The Misfits rocked hard, too... there's just too many great bands to name. Let's not forget Dead Kennedy's, either. That's another band that I would just listen to for hours.
