Should have done (or maybe you still can) a System Restore in the Windows Utilities menu. Works like a charm.

Format your HD.

Try a system restore (as mentioned above) or try microsoft's antispyware

I had a browser hijack that was so bad that it forced me to reformat my C:\

I think it was www[googly].v73.[googly]us or something like that. I added the googly's so it wouldn't create a link that some dumbass would click.

do this
Add the following to a text file:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\starware.com]
*=dword:00000004
and save the file as a .reg then run the file to block this activeX control.

Make sure you check your add/remove programs for the Starware toolbar and remove it.

Delete the folder Software Distribution under C:\Windows.

Download and run Giant AntiSpyware from www.giantcompany.com scan system.

Let m e know how it works out! :)
