Speaking of bikes, OCC bikes kick ass (PICS)
I love watching the OCC on Discovery channel. Those fuckers make some kick ass bikes. Not to mention it's just funny to watch Paul Sr. and Jr. fight, and then Mikey acts like a goofball and makes everyone laugh :thumbsup

WTF was up w/ the XMas bike?
|
i like their bikes but they became more popular because of their antics. theres a dozen better bike builders out there.
however i would still love to have a custom chopper someday no matter who made it, lol |
they make some really really hot bikes one of my favorites was the 9/11 bike
|
There are sooo many better bike builders out there that those idiots. OCC are just a bunch of lucky guys, without the show no one would even look twice at their bikes.
|
Chrome don't get you home seems to truly apply with their bikes.
If someone gave me one of their bikes I would sell it. |
Well I'm no bike expert, I guess I'm going by their bikes are hot because they LOOK good. But do they last?
My Dad has a harley and said he wouldn't part with it for anything including one of the OCC 100K bikes. Is that what you mean? |

I mean they are show bikes, and do not look to be comfortable enough to go any further than the corner bar. Plus, I was watching one of their shows where they had to let air out of the back tire to get the wheel on. That would piss me off to no end if I was on the road and got a flat. They build their bikes for looks, nothing more. I like to ride mine. |
Aside from the bikes, I watch the show for the dynamics between the characters. I worked with my old man and his renovations company off and on over the years...and we often fought much the same way over stuff. I think many fathers and sons do, especially when both are opinionated and stubborn.
But to those who put down their custom theme bikes, I agree some of them don't compare to a lot of other builders I've seen at various bike shows over the years. The 9/11 bike was well done, though. But whether you like their bikes or not...there's no denying they help raise awareness (and money) for various charities and organizations. They're the first to admit many of their own bikes aren't built for comfort or practicality. |
A few of the pics I took this year at biketoberfest..

wow nice bikes..though some looks pretty odd.. yeah like the christmas bike..LOL
|
OCC really have no credibility in the builder world. They get by on the outlandish antics and a little bit of metal work. True builders like Jesse James, Chica, Indian larry, Matt Hotch, the Mitchell Brothers, Exile Cylces and many many others stand head and shoulders abve the OCC guys.
|
I used to love it, but I find the show hard to watch now...seems like the antics get more and more scripted with every show. Still not as bad as American Hot Rod though.
Here we go, another impossible deadline, but we'll pull through in the end. Blah. |
Awesome, but the vintage one is still the best.

i get the artistry, but to call these devices motorcyles is a little farfetched.
lots of affectation, just like the tv show. wannabes, these guys can barely ride. give me a sportbike. i appreciate function. |
Gotta disagree - Jesse James has a ton of talent and can build a bike from the frame up... he might be an ass but he can build.

They kind of fucked him on the deal, they said 30 days to build a bike, but it's really 12 days. He laced his own rims, put the whole bike together, custom made a tank, took it all apart send it out for paint, then put it all together. Just couldn't finish the wiring on the last day. Oh well, he tried. |

I hate to agree with you, but afraid I must. They had a special on him where he built a bike, then rode it to Sturgis. He did not make it to the Nevada border before stuff started literally flying off. He broke down again in Utah as I recall. If he did not have a chase truck, with a complete shop in it, and a TV crew, he never would have made it. If I were him I would have paid them to not show it on TV. |
Awesome bikes! :thumbsup

I miss Indian Larry, I liked his bikes the best. :helpme
|
I don't really like their bikes that much but I enjoy the show ... that's just a very disfonctional-fonctional family ...
|
If I could have any of their bikes it would definitly be the comanche
|
To all the critics: Can you do better? If so, do it.
Personally, looking at the bikes alone give me a back ache. But i'd still rock one. :D |
bikes rule!

Yes, and I have, a couple of times. The difference being that my bikes not only looked good, but I could ride them wherever I wanted. I hope to have my newest home built, from scratch, finished this winter. |

I remember him when he was driving his old primer Chevy truck.. back before he became popular and got on the Discovery channel shows. I also agree on OCC guys, their bikes kinda suck.. They put way too much shit on them.. They remind me of Mexican Bean hoppers. |
Has anyone here ever seen one of their bikes in person? How about 10 of them?
LOL |

My next bike is going to be pretty cool. I think this will be the last time I put it together. I have to start thinking about cosmetics pretty soon. |
OCC has to build them fast because of the show schedule. You don't see too many bikes built in 6 weeks that look as nice !

I kinda like the show but I have no clue about bikes so I can't say if they should be good or not. They do look cool most of the time.
|
I love those guys.
|
OCC bikes are great... ahw man... makes me drool.

I knew him before he got any recognition and just once things started to go good for him he had to pass, its a true loss. Gasoline Alley will never be the same without him. |
