18-year-old Becomes Town Mayor
Michigan teen becomes town mayor. (Hillsdale, Michigan) - An 18-year-old high school student in Michigan has something quite unique to put on a college application: 'I held office as mayor'. Eighteen-year-old Michael Sessions defeated 51-year-old incumbent Doug Ingles in this week's election to become the new mayor of Hillsdale, Michigan. Hillsdale has a population of just over 8,000. The teen used an aggressive write-in campaign to earn his seat. He even got the endorsement of several civic groups. The high school senior, who still lives with his parents, will be the youngest mayor in the town's history. http://www.wltx.com/video/fyi-vdoplayer.aspx?aid=17219 http://www.wltx.com/fyi/fyi.aspx?storyid=32202 |

What do you expect in a country that votes in Celebrites as Politicians :)
thats cool and all.. but uhm, yeah...
I had a friend who was "thinking" about doing it his senior year. I think the highest vote count in our town was like 160. Which would be easy to beat as a highschool kid.
Well, he never went through with it because he was afraid. Such a waste! |
considering its a small town, he had to overcome everyones judgement of knowing him when he grew up.. good for him to earn the trust of so many at such a young age
Only in America.
too funny :1orglaugh
good for him :)

I hope he can handle it :)
