Can someone in Australia send me a video of their toilet flushing?

I still don't believe that it spins counter clockwise. Is that an urban legend?

I just don't believe it and I have never travelled to Australia to confirm it. Anyone in Aussie country; can you record your toilet flushing and post the vid?

Libertine 11-11-2005 08:54 PM

I've actually seen it on tv once. Freaky stuff. Makes you wonder how people can keep their sanity in a place like that. Made me think of Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Fizzgig 11-11-2005 08:55 PM

Yes, and it's very awkward for the Japanese to use Australian toilets because the urine from their slanted pussies sprays counter to the swirling causing a horrible backlash...

PimpDaddyPants 11-11-2005 08:55 PM

Australian water goes round and round round and round all the way to the left wowowowowowo

Kinky John 11-11-2005 08:57 PM

Yeah it does spin the other way around . . next ?

jackie1 11-11-2005 10:09 PM

its something to do with the "coriolis effect", I learned about in geography class in college but i didn't reall understand or grasp the concept or the class for that matter ( i dropped the class because it was too hard). Something about stuff spinning in a certain way in the north and the opposite in the south.

MattO 11-11-2005 10:10 PM

If you go to a punk show down under the pit travels in the opposite direction, also.

I've personally tested this. The water spins clockwise.

LMAO

I was in Australia 5 yrs ago, it didn't really 'spin' at all, took me a few weeks to get used to how their toilets flushed actually. It all seemed rather sudden, loud, and verging on violent

Matt 26z 11-12-2005 05:52 AM

I did manage to find this for anyone who wants to go check it out...

http://www.toiletmap.gov.au/

What the fuck kind of government runs a site like that???

who 11-12-2005 05:55 AM

Yes, it spins that way. This also affects convection currents.

We got a new toilet fitted a few weeks ago, the gap at the bottom is smaller, and my dumps keep getting stuck.

Takes a good 6 or 7 flushes at times... :(

Vitasoy 11-12-2005 06:13 AM

I never knew about this until I first saw it on a simpson episode, did some googling and it was true... :upsidedow

quantum-x 11-12-2005 06:15 AM

Heh. It's not so amazing, it goes the other way to where you are!

What's more interesting.. go dead onto the equator and flush.. it just kinda.. sucks down.,

Zorgman 11-12-2005 09:05 AM

I do remember when I was a kid we had a toilet that flushed around, but that was a long time ago. The one I have now just goes down.

Im a true blue Aussie! :D

Nydahl 11-12-2005 09:11 AM

its due to globe spin
also dogs are turning the other way before they go to sleep there

monaro 11-12-2005 09:35 AM

It's the way the water is released while flushing.
Try yahoo video search, should be one there. LOL

:error

Sorry Mr. Knowitall but it actually has more to do with Physics and science than a simple water release mechanism. Otherwise toilets would be made with a counter clock wise feature.
