I just bough Dreamweaver 8 and...

It really does Rock!

They did a lot of work to incorperate the CSS into the interface and it has a lot of things that I always wanted in DW4 or MX. Great program and well worth the money. :thumbsup

I only paid $799 for the entire suite (DW, Fireworks, Flash, etc) and it was well worth it!

Can I borrow your PC for a tick..

NickPapageorgio 11-11-2005 06:19 PM

Yep, I was reading up on it when it was in beta...the new features look fucking sick. I want it so bad but can't justify the purchase yet. ;)

Bought mine for $248

gotta love having a sister in college :)

I'll have to download that, sounds good.

Rob 11-11-2005 06:24 PM

It's a great program and like I said earlier, they really must have listened to web designers / developers' feedback. I like it because it is no longer biased to the designer and more towards the developer and programmer.

Good stuff. I have the install posted online if anyone wants to download it. You just can't use my serial number to install it.

You have to be careful using educational an license.

If you are using it against the Terms and conditions you may just as well use a warez copy free from the net.

Actually, I forgot that I took the install off of my server. I put it up there so a couple employees could download it but I took it down to prevent sharing.

So the people that are hitting me up on ICQ right now for the link can stop. Sorry.

You can download a fully functional version od Studio 8 off Macromedia's website directly. Just gotta have the serial to unlock the trial.

I bought mine for $0 from p2p. :winkwink:

I really good though, i love it!!

Aric 11-11-2005 06:48 PM

I personally hate it.

Love the new features, but hate alot of the quirks that were introduced (to name one: constantly reformatting my links -- replacing &'s with & especially when a search/replace is done on anything despite the Pref settings), not to mention how damn slow it is over a network.

If they were to address those annoying quirks, I would consider moving back up to it for the code collapsing feature alone :)

I went back down to MX (I also hate MX 2004).

can I buy it and learn how to use it without classes?

I don't see why not. If you're hungry enough then you can learn anything.

mkx 11-11-2005 07:18 PM

i just downloaded the trial 2 days ago, havent played with it yet. i love frontpage but they both have their advantages

adultchica 11-11-2005 07:19 PM

I like Dreamweaver and I plan on getting the new stuff.

NoWhErE 11-11-2005 07:21 PM

Personnally I've never tried Dreamweaver. What are the pros and cons of both programs?

NoWhErE 11-11-2005 08:58 PM

Bump for an opinion

I know in older versions this sucked but that can be changed in the edit>preferences>code rewriting
