Just use the knee and elbow pads... no shame in it.

DWB 11-11-2005 12:27 PM

When I was younger... that's all I did.

Dwreck 11-11-2005 12:28 PM

I got one and I love it. I have a pic somewhere.

Brent from Python got me turned on longboards Chris. That is my next purchase!

How long have you been skating? Is this a new hooby for you?

Do you prefer street? Can you do tricks?

Marcus Aurelius 11-11-2005 12:29 PM

I used to, when I was 14. I was never any good at it.

BigCashCrew 11-11-2005 12:37 PM

Yeah, when i was younger I had some Powell Peralta skateboards. I wasn't that good though. It was a lot of fun.

Actually I haven't tried in a long time but my brother and I spent hours on them when we were kids.

davethetruth 11-11-2005 01:08 PM

I used to, but then it got to the point where every time I touched the thing I'd hurt myself.

MetaMan 11-11-2005 01:11 PM

squeezeboobs 11-13-2005 03:13 PM

I used to about 20 years ago.

MikeVega 11-13-2005 03:24 PM

I used to ... when i was about 14-18 .. I was an ok street skater and i had a 5' half pipe in the backyard ... these days I just hop on my sons board every once and awhile .. i can still Ollie and grind a bit ... I set up a PVC 8' slide over the summer .. it was cool doing some rail slides .... there's is a huge skate park right behind my house ... thankfully there is a good section of woods to block any noise .... I'd love to do it more .. :thumbsup

s9ann0 11-13-2005 03:44 PM

i used to a bit but I sucked I just bought a longboard the other day

I am more into mountain bikes

tranza 11-13-2005 06:06 PM

DWB 11-13-2005 06:44 PM

I was good. Really good. Won some contests and was talking to some companies about large sponsorship (already had smaller ones) but then I hyperextended my knee and broke some other bones riding a huge vert half pipe and that was it. Didn't even walk for 3 months. It put the fear into me and I never could shake it.

Picked up a board 2 years ago and I don't like these new skinny ones. I liked the oldschool ones back in the days when Vison and Powell were on top. The board of choice was a Sam Cunningham deck, with the snub nose from Blockhead.

I need to dig up some of my old pics, scan them and post them. You guys would trip.

OFFBEAT 11-13-2005 07:00 PM

I'm 24 and I still skateboard every weekend with friends. From sunrise Saturday to Sunday sunset. Mostly street.

It feels so numb, to be young and having fun.

DWB 11-13-2005 10:43 PM

The movie Back To The Future was what me get my first board. He had a "splatter" board by a company called.... oh shit... called...ummm... I forget the name. They were cheap and you could buy them at Kmart. They were among the first of the fat boards.

DirtyDanza 11-13-2005 10:43 PM

Baker Rd 11-13-2005 10:56 PM

basschick 11-13-2005 10:57 PM

no - i have no sense of balance :-/

but my 37 year old fiance has an alien workshop danny way reaper which is really cool. he's changed the wheels and trucks on it and it just keeps getting better. he's been looking at a birdhouse and a santa monica airlines trying to decide on a second board - he is thinking of a long board or else a wider one for something different.
