Veterans Denied Voice in Congress
I have 3 Vets in my family...
So,,,, WASHINGTON, Nov. 10 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, Steve Buyer (R-Ind.), announced plans to eliminate annual congressional hearings for Veterans Service Organizations. Under Buyer?s plan, The American Legion and other Veterans Service Organizations would no longer be afforded the opportunity to present testimony before a joint hearing of the House and Senate Veterans' Affairs Committees. Announced 4 days before Veterans Day nice eh?? http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=56576 |
ATTENTION VETERANS:
Your government appreciates your service and sacrifice. You will not be forgotten. They also have a great deal on some florida swampland for you if you believe the above. That is all. |
Not surprising really.
The President, our Commander in Chief, isn't a veteran. Vice President Richard Cheney, a former secretary of defense, has been quoted as saying he had "other priorities'' during the Vietnam War. Not to mention, there are fewer veterans serving in Congress than in the past. http://www.vaiw.org/vet/modules.php?...ticle&sid= 43 |
That's disgusting, but I am not shocked.
The ONLY thing that suprises me is that it's coming from a Republican from Indiana. I didn't know that being anti freedom of speach for VETS was a Republican platform. :/ |
give them GI money and send them off to war.
the GI Bill alone should offend people, but it doesnt. :) |
Very sad, but not shocking with this government. :(
