Please Help With A Fucked Up Dell Inspiron 1150!

Hey all...
I've had a HELL of a time with my laptop over the last 2 days.

#1. I had a bunch of boot errors. It ended up being an issue with RAM, so I went and bought 1 gig of ram to replace what was in there originally. The computer runs much better after I put in the new RAM.... Til #2 happens!

#2. I come home to see that the laptop is nothing but a black screen that says "Hard Disk Cannot Be Found", and the harddrive is making this insane buzzing noise.

#3. I wake up this morning, but a new harddrive and put it in. Simple enough. I reinstall windows XP from a disk. All is fine until I realize that I cannot edit my display to more than 8 colors.. I also have no sound. Oh... And I am unable to install my wireless card to connect to the internet!

So it seems as if I am missing drivers. I went to the Dell website and searched for drivers via this page:
http://support.dell.com/support/down...&os=WW1&osl=EN

I burned one on to a CDR from my desktop and tried to load it onto my computer. It installed a bunch of crap (50 mb worth) and thats about it... I noticed no differences, it looks like an old windows 3.1 machine and I've pulled out all my hair.

Does anybody have an idea what to do? Is there a driver that you know of that can restore this back to a working machine? I've already lost everything on my old HD (passwords, receipts, bookmarks, etc)... I'd hate to have to trash this laptop that I just spent $400 on to fix.

Any help, driver recommendations, etc would be appreciated! And I'll also throw in that somebody decided to throw away my original disks that came with the lappy, so I have no drivers. :Oh crap

Edit: I also searched Google to find any remebies and I came up with nothing.

Computer should have come with original drivers, or you can download them according to your model number from the dell website.

Original driver disks were thrown away as stated...

I attempted to find the drivers on the Dell site, but those ended up doing nothing.

Thanks for offering to help, but I'm assuming you didn't bother to read anything I wrote. :1orglaugh
