Right Franck. :winkwink:

Yes it is. Because right now all the criminals are shooting eachother. If we all had guns everybody would be shooting eachother.

Ofcourse you dont know the story about these pics so let me tell it real quick. The "unknown" man is actually a well known criminal. He's the 4th criminal in 2 weeks time that got assassinated. They all know eachother and it's most likely the same person who is getting them killed because obviously he wants them to shut up about something.

Owning a knife makes one much more likely to slice vegetables or cut meat. Possession of alcohol makes one much more likely to get drunk. Owning a gun makes a person much more likely to shoot someone.

I guarantee you can't find statistical facts to back that up.

So you are saying people who don't have guns shoot as many people as those who do have guns? :1orglaugh

What exactly do they shoot them with then? Bow and arrow?

No, I am saying that because you own a gun doesn't mean that you are going to go out and shoot someone.

Screaming 11-11-2005 11:21 AM

You can get a gun anywhere if you want it bad enuff.

Want me to pull up the stats again of gun murders and maybe more important accidental gun kills in the States compared to Holland?

psili 11-11-2005 11:25 AM

These threads amuse me.

Go get 'em Franck. :)

Go ahead, but its not going to change my mind about anything. Just because you own a gun doesn't mean that you will one day wake up, see the gun, be so overwhelmed by its screaming "Pick me up and kill someone," that you won't be able to resist, and you will go out and kill someone. Anyone who thinks that guns force people to kill people are seriously delusional. Obviously the more guns in a country the more gun deaths, just like the more cars you have the more car accidents. Hey, I bet that there are a hell of a lot more bike accidents in Holland than there are in the States, does that mean we should ban bikes from your country?

Yes, I agree. Eating chicken makes it much more likely to choke on a chicken bone too, should we outlaw chicken?

psili 11-11-2005 11:33 AM

I remember chopping veggies one night for dinner and the fucking knife went right for my finger. Right for it man. That knife gashed my finger without any warning at all.

I've since banned all knives in my house because they cut fingers.

Scary knives.

If you have curtains in your kitchen then they're more likely to catch on fire than curtains that don't exist. I am hoping to get a bill passed by Congress outlawing all forms of curtains or curtain accessories in kitchens.

No, yet so many people have guns in the States that it does happen. And a lot.

If you don't own a gun, you won't flip out and start shooting people. Just because you can't.

Guns are a very effective means of killing people. That means that if people freak out, berserk, go psycho, want revenge, go on a killing spree or simply aren't taking it anymore, guns will greatly increase the damage they can and will do.

Guns don't drive people to kill, but they help people who are trying to kill.

Dude, a bike is a vehicel, a gun is a weapon. What else can you do with a gun than shoot somebody or something? When somebody got killed riding a bike, than it's called an accident. When somebody got killed by a gun, the gun did what it was made for.

This is 100% correct yet these gun freaks simply will not understand this. They refuse to do so.

If a bike lock could kill someone,
"College student beaten to death with own bike lock", imagine what damage a bike could do.

I'm banning all bikes from my house now, too.

Chicken bones may slightly increase the risk of accidents.
Guns greatly increase the chance of success of attempted murder.

I am not against guns because idiots may accidentally shoot themselves, but because those idiots may deliberately shoot me. Banning guns is not about protecting people from themselves, but about protecting people from other people.

adultguus 11-11-2005 11:52 AM

And on topic, the people of ogrish.com are not very well informed. The guy that was shot was far from unknown. It was a very well-known criminal (as Franck already said) in Amsterdam, George van Kleef.

I bet that people like Willem Holleeder (kidnapper of Heineken, yes the former owner of the beer brand) and Willem van Boxtel, former president of Hells Angels Amsterdam, who had to leave the club in 'bad standing' will also be assassinated within 1 year here in Holland.

I think you're missing the point here, its not whether or not it was designed to kill, its the fact that it can/did kill. Some indigenous people have been using guns to kill food for years, years and years before a bunch of idiot gangster wannabes and drunken rednecks used them to kill each other. Does this mean that it would have been better for them to not have guns ever, that way they couldn't protect themselves from voracious elk and mountain lions eager to eat their whole village? Or that instead of hunting to eat, they should have just eaten dirt until they died?

You need to think outside the box here man. I know society has programmed you all to think a certain way about guns and to not use your imagination, but let loose for once and use your imagination.

When I was there 2 summers ago some stupid fucker tried to rob a gas station with an unloaded grenade launcher. Coulda been bad if it had been loaded. I say give em guns! Less dangerous that way :)

Target was former owner of Heineken, Freddie Heineken (died of natural causes later).

It was a very spectacular time here in the Netherlands. Later Cor van Hout published a book in which he describes all preperations they took before the kidnap and everything that happened during. Very interesting to read.

I think I saw pictures of that Heineken guy when I went through the old Heineken brewery tour. Was he the one who more or less turned Heineken into a major brewer and made it really profitable?
